Meliora Norwood

Meloria, daughter of Benjamin Norwood
Meliora Norwood was bap. July 18, 1694 in NYC, NY, and d. August 25, 1765 in NYC, NY.  In 1724 she had a relationship with, but never married, (1) Samuel Broadhurst, who was bap. September 1, 1700 and d. November 1, 1755 when he apparently drowned during an earthquake in Port of Lisbon, Portugal.  They had one child:

Samuel Broadhurst was b. May 4, 1725 in NYC, NY, and d. bef. 1772, probably in New York.  He in turn had four children; Samuel, Benjamin, Cornelia, and Sarah, all named in Meliora’s will in 1765 and her sister Cornelia’s will in 1772.  I believe the name of the mother of these children may have been Anne Heath but I have not researched this line far enough to know for sure.

On August 4, 1726 in NYC, NY, Meliora m. (2) Anthony Lewis, who was b ?, and d. bef 1765, probably in New York.  They had one known child:

Thomas Lewis was bap. June 29, 1729 in NYC, NY, and d. bef. 1765, probably in New York.  I have found no additional info on him but believe he may have died young.  He is not mentioned in either Meliora’s or her sister Cornelia’s wills.
