KAINE - David C. (Rev)
= Rev. David C. Kane d. Thursday, at Victoria Public Hospital, Fredericton, after several months of illness.  He was a Baptist Clergyman. Surviving are his wife, Beatrice (Simms); son William, New Glasgow, NS; 2 daus, Jean and Lydia, at home; a sister, Mrs. Mary Lloyd, Campbellton, and a brother, Fred, Niagara Falls, ON.  Body resting at home, 111 Aberdeen St, to be taken to the Brunswick Street Baptist Church for services at 2 pm, by Rev. Dr. W. H. Elgee.  Interment in the Rural Cemetery Extension. (#1,TJ,?)

KEATING - Allan Vincent & DUCETTE - Paul
= Dec 1983 - Two Fairvale men killed in a two-car accident near Hampton on Highway No. 1 at 11:30 p.m. last night.  Allan Vincent Keating, 29 (and Paul Ducette, 27) were killed when the car they were in struck a car they were passing and left the highway.  Both men were ejected from their vehicle and were killed instantly, said the RCMP spokesman.  The accident took place near the Dolan Road intersection. = Mrs. Agnes Keating of 263 Douglas Ave, d. at her res. 13 Jul 1984.  d/o late Zephyr & Mary (O'Brien) LaRiviere, survived by three sons, one daughter, two sisters, ten grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

KEATING - Brian Charles & MABER, Marilyn Joan
= Brian Charles Keating s/o Mr. & Mrs. Frederick Keating and Marilyn Joan d/o Mr. & Mrs. Donald Maber were m. at St Mary and St Bartholomew's Church, Saint John, Rev. Philip Williston officiating, and Miss Diane Gibson was organist.
    Attended by Mrs. Dorothy Seelye as matron of honor, Miss JoAnne Kane & Miss Deirdre Fisher as bridesmaids and Miss Lori Maber as Jr bridesmaid. Douglas McKiel as best man and ushers were Douglas Keating and Norman Seelye, Jr. Usher was Larry Maber.
    James Curwin proposed the toast to the bride, and Miss Beverly Curwin circulated the guest book, at the reception held at the Fairvale Community Centre. Wedding trip to Miami, FL and Nassau, Bahamas. Bride is a graduate of  UNB and employed by the Board of School Trustees, Dist 20, groom also graduated UNB and employed by the Dept. of Enviroment of the Federal Government. Saint John General Hospital.  Survived by one dau; four sons; three sisters; four brothers; 7 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. = Charlie Keating & Sherry Golding, both of Saint John were m. at Crossroads Cathedral, Saint John, with Rev. Gary Barrett officiating and Eldon Smith as organist. Sherry d/o Mrs. & Mrs. Walter Golding, of Acamac and Charlie the s/o Kenneth Keating of Saint John, and the late Grace Keating.
    Attended by Betty Anne Palmer as maid of honour, and Gary Dean as best man.  Ushers were Leroy Palmer and Michael & Alfred Keating. Receiving for her brother was Isabelle Green, guest book circulated by Jacqueline & Kelly Fitzpatrick.

    Survived by her husb and her father; one dau Isabele E.; five sons: Kenneth; Charles; Michael; Alfred and Joseph, all at home. Two sisters: Mrs. George Ring, Bayswater and Mrs. L. M. French, Edmonton, Alberta. one bro. Walter Kean, Lancaster and several nieces and nephews.

= James E. Keating, of 1 Hazen Ave, d. 2 Dec 1977 at Saint John General Hospital after a period of failing health.  Born in Saint John, s/o the late John & Annie (McGovern) Keating. Survived by one sister, Mrs. Robert Burnes, Jamaica Plains, MA.  Body at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, funeral on Monday at 8:45 to the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception at 9 am, interment will be at St Joseph's Cemetery. KEATING - Joseph
= Many friends will mourn the death of Joseph Keating which occurred suddenly at his residence, 48 Champlain St, West Saint John Sunday evening. He was born in Dublin, Ireland on  Sept 9, 1863, a s/o the late William Hamilton & Jane Keating.
    He leaves to mourn his wife, formerly  Eva Charlotte Wiley; two daughters: Mrs. J. R. Elliot, Fairville and Mrs. G. A. Leonard, West Saint John; also three grandchildren, Shirley Joyce & John Keating Elliot, and Sandra Moyra Leonard.  He had taught in many different countries before coming to Canada in Sept 1908 and became head of the New Brunswick School for the Deaf in West Saint John.  He remained in this capacity until the school was taken over for military purposes.  Afterwards he taught in the Rome, NY School for the Deaf until his retirement in 1929.
    The funeral will be held from the Ross Funeral Home, West Saint John Tuesday at 2:30 pm with services conducted by Rev. W. P. Haigh. (#2,TG,Jan 27 1947)

= Mrs. A. Keating - Fairville, Passes (d. Feb 1945) Mrs. Lillie May Keating, widow of Andrew Keating, occurred at her res., Church Ave, Fairville at an early hour Sunday morning, following an illness of one month.  b. at Westfield, d/o the late Raymond and Charlotte Finley, but had resided at Fairville for the past 30 years. Member of the Ch. of the Good Shepherd and its Senior WA.
    Surviving - 6 sons: William A; Pte. Stanley (of the Veteran's Guard of Canada); Cpl Frank (R.C.O.C) all of Fairville; Charles K., Saint John; Fred, Winnipeg and Sgt Ernest (R.C.E.M.E. - now serving in Belgium) Five daughters: Mrs. Lilas Conners, Blackville; Mrs. Stanley Gilbert and Mrs. Harold Kierstead of Fairville and the Misses Miriam & Charlotte at home; one sister Mrs. Annie Buchanan, Amesbury, MA 30 grandchildren and six great g. ch. Funeral on Tues 2:30 from the Ch of the Good Shepherd, entombment at Cedar Hill until spring, when burial will take place at the Good Shepherd Cemetery.  (#2,TG)

KEATING - Miriam Jeanette
= Miss Miriam Jeanette Keating, 196 Church Ave West, d. at res. Friday evening after a period of failing health.  Born at Westfield, Kings Co, d/o late Andrew M. & Lillie M. (Finley) Keating.  Member of the Church of the Good Shepherd and for over 40 years was associated with the Commercial Union Insurance Company.  She retired in 1963.
    Survived by three sisters: Mrs. S. Gilbert, Ketepec; Miss Charlotte E. Keating and Mrs. Harold Kierstead of Saint John; five brothers: Fred R., Saskatoon, Sask; Stanley N. and Frank L. both of Saint John and Ernest A. of Gondola Point.
    Body at Calvin until Mon 10 a.m. when it will be taken to the Ch of Good Shepherd, with services at 2:30.  Interment at the Good Shepherd Cemetery.  (#2/TG of 3 Feb 1968)

= Pte. Murray A. Keating was wounded in France on 24 July, according to word received by his mother, Mrs. Stanley N. Keating, Church Ave, Fairville. Pte. Keating enlisted in Feb 1943 and went overseas in July 1943.  He was a graduate of Fairville Superior School and of Saint John Vocational School. His father, L-Cpl /S. N. Keating is serving with the Veteran Guard of Canada. (#2,TG [1944])

KEATING - Murray Glendon
= Murray Glendon Keating d. Sunday 26 Feb 1967, ae 15 yrs, s/o Murray G. & Audrey (Heans) Keating, of 124 Church Ave, West - as result of accidental shooting at his home (cleaning his rifle).
    A grade 10 student at Saint John High School & member of the Army Cadet Battalion, the NB Rifle Association, the Fish & Game Club, and was enthusiastic about guns and target shooting.  (Two years ago he and his father won the Father & Son Shoot of the Saint John Fish & Game Association.)  Member of the First United Baptist Church, sang in the choir and was a member of the Baptist Youth Fellowship, as well as a member of the Saint John High School Madrigal Choir, and played the pipe organ as a hobby. Surviving besides his parents are one sister, Karen Elaine, ae 9, at home; maternal g. mother Mrs. Ada Heanes, of St John and several Aunts & Uncles.
    Body at Calvin's Funeral Home, services there on Wed. 2 pm. Interment at Cedar Hill Ext. (#2,TJ/Wed 1 Mar.)

KEATING - N. Stanley
= N. Stanley Keating d. at Lancaster DVA Hospital, 1 Jul 1970 - of 146 Church Ave, husband of Cleadie G. (Banks) Keating. Survived by wife, three daughters two sons, three sisters, three brothers, 23 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

KEATING - N. S.
= DIES IN HOSPITAL - N. Stanley Keating of 146 Church Ave, a retired millwright, d. at the Lancaster DVA Hospital on Wed.  He was b. in Westfield, and a life-long resident of Saint John.  Before retiring in 1963 he was a millwright in Irving Pulp and Paper.  He was employed for 43 years. Member of Local No. 30, Pulp, Sulfate and Papermill Workers and of the Church of the Good Shepherd.  Served in the 115 Battalion of the 24th Company overseas in the United Kingdom and continent during the First World War. During the Second W.W. he served with the Veteran Guards No. 19.
    Serviving are his wife the former Cleadie G. Banks; three daughters, Mrs. Walter Livingston, of Caistor Center, On; Mrs. Charles Wallace of Saint John West; and Mrs. Malcolm Barnett of Oromocto; two sons - Murray A. of Spruce Lake and Norman S. of Saint John West.  Three brothers: Fred, of Saskatoon; Frank of South Bay; Ernest of Renforth; and three sisters: Mrs. Stanley Gilbert of Ketepec; Miss Charlotte Keating & Mrs. Harold Kierstead of Saint John West; 23 grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. KEATING - Sarah Jane & HUTTON - Thomas Stuart
= Sarah Jane Keating d/o Mr. & Mrs. Raymond S. Keating, of Saint John and  Thomas Stuart Hutton, s/o Mr. & Mrs. George M. Hutton, also of Saint John were married in St Mark's United Church.
    The bride is a graduate of Saint John High School & Modern Business College and is employed by Irving Oil Ltd. The groom is a graduate of Saint John High School and is employed by K.M. Agency Ltd, Manufacturers' Agents. They will reside in Saint John.
    Attendants were: Miss Susan Hargraves - maid of honour; Bridesmaids were - Mrs. Noel Conley, Mrs. Glen Buchanan, sister of the groom, and Miss Karen Keating cousin of the bride.  Flower girl was Miss Heather Scott.  Groomsman was Ronald Hutton, cousin of the groom.  Ushers were Bruce Burgoyne, his cousin; Robert Hutton, Jr, a cousin; and William Finley a cousin of the bride.  Ringbearer was Paul Huestis. Guest book circulated by Mrs. David Kelly. Service conducted by Rev. Kenneth M. Finley, organist Maurice A. McIntyre and solist Mrs. Francis Hancock. (#2, TJ)

KEATING - Walter R.
= Walter R. Keating (d. 13 Jan 1984) of 95 Coldbrook Cres. & formerly of 5 Silver Crescent, h/o Doris (Rutledge) Keating d. at St Joseph's Hospital Tues, following a lengthy illness. Born in Halifax, NS s/o Louis Keating of Halifax, & the late Kathleen (Foley) Keating. He had been a res. of Saint John for the greater part of his life. Besides his wife and father, he is survived by two sons, Michael H. of  Fredericton, & Donald J. of Morgate, FL; one dau Mary E. - Mrs. Wayne Taylor, of Saint John; two bros. David of Halifax & Philip of Lynn, MA; one sister, Mary - Mrs. Thomas Osborne, of Dartmouth, NS; 4 grand children and several nieces & nephews.
    Body at Fitzpatrick's until 9:30 am, Thurs, then to St. Joachim's Church at 10 am.  Internment in St Joseph's Cemetery. (#2, TJ)

KERR, Howard Calvin
    Geary - The death of Howard Calvin Kerr of Geary, occurred at his home here. Born in Tyron, Charlotte Co, he was a son of the late Granville and Edith (Orr) Kerr. Mr. Kerr was a mechanic with the RCMP, retiring in 1970.  He was a member of the LOL No. 114, Geary.  He was also a member of the United Baptist Church of Geary where he served as Deacon, choir member, assistant superintendent of the Sunday School and Sunday school teacher of the adult class.
    He is survived by his wifeMargaret (Harper); two daughters, Roberts M. and Aardith M. both at home; two sisters, Beatrice McRae of Honeydale, NB and Berla Logan of Rollingdam, NB; two brothers, Aubrey of Saint John and Harley of Montreal and several nieces and nephews.
    The funeral was hled at the Geary Baptist Church.  Entombment was in Forest Hill Cemetery vault with burial in the Geary cemetery at a later date. (#2/DG)

KELLY - Helen Irene (Mrs)
= Mrs. Helen Irene Kelly, 39, wife of Joseph J. Kelly of  Oromocto, d. at the Victoria Public Hospital, Fredericton, on Sunday.  Born in Oromocto, d/o Joseph & the late Mrs. Irvine.
She resided in Saint John for awhile and has resided in Oromocto (RR 3) for 15 years.  Member of St Vincent-de-Paul Church, Oromocto. Survived by her husband, 1 dau (infant) Deborah Elizabeth, her father and step-mother, 3 sisters Mrs. Frederick Ritchie; Mrs. Isaac Mullen and Miss June Irvine, all of Saint John and two brothers, Walter, Rothesay and George in Saint John. Body resting at J.A. McAdam Funeral Home, Fredericton. (#1,TJ,?)

KIERSTEAD - Harold Seth
= Harold Seth Kierstead, 464 Brian Lane, husband of Sadie B. (Keating) Kierstead, occurred Mon at the West Side Community Hospital after a brief illness. (21 May 1979) b. in Collina, kings Co, he was s/o the late Elias W. & Mary M. (Lister) Kierstead.  Lived the greater part of his life in Saint John, where he was employed as a stationary engineer for Irving Pulp and Paper Ltd. retiring in 1967.
    Member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, pre-deceased by one daughter, Lillian J. Kierstead in Nov 1978.   Survived by wife, one brother, Ralph, Saint John and several sister-in-law, nieces and nephews.
    Body at Castle Funerl Home until 11 a.m. Thursday when body will be taken to the Church of the Good Shepherd for services at 2 pm., with interment at the Good Shepherd Cemetery. (#2,TJ)

KIERSTEAD - Lillian Jeanette
= Lillian Jeanette Kierstead, of 464 Brian Lane, d/o Harold S. & Sadie B. (Keating) Kierstead of Saint John, d. 10 Nov 1978 ae 38, by accident at New River, Charlotte Co, NB. (RCMP says she was the lone occupant of a car which left the road approx. 11 pm. and cause of death had not been determined.)
    Born in Saint John - former teacher at Barnhill Memorial School and Grand Bay School, and was a member and Sunday School teacher at the Church of the Good Shepherd.  Besides her parents she is survived by aunts, uncles and cousins.  Body is resting at Castle Funeral Home until 11 am Tuesday, when it will be taken to the Ch of the Good Shepherd for services at 2 pm.  Interment at the Good Shepherd Cem. KIERSTEAD - Sadie B.
= Unexpectedly 24 Sep 1984 at the Miramichi Hospital, Mrs. Sadie B. (Keating) Kierstead of 2 Carleton Place, West Saint John, widow of Harold Kierstead, survived by one sister, several nephews and nieces. Resting at Castle Funeral Home (Fairview)  309 Lancaster Ave from where the funeral will be held on Wed at 2 p.m.  Interment at Ch of the Good Shepherd Cemetery. (#2,TJ)

KIMBALL - Lena M. (Mrs. H. G.)
    The death of Mrs. Lena M. Kimball occured yesterday at Oromocto Public Hospital. Born at Waterville, she was the daughter of the late Adolphus E. & Sadie (Wood) Smith.  An active member of the community, she was a member of the Oromocto Baptist Church, a Dominion Life member of the Women's Institute and a member of the Sunbury Senior Citizen' group.
    A silver Cross Mother, she was predeceased by three sons, Murray R. and Keith C. who were killed in action in August, 1944, and Allen E. who died in March 1944.
    She is survived by her husband, Harold G.; three daughters, Jean, Saint John, Mrs. John Hayward (Irene), Fredericton, and Mrs. Donald Lewis (Joyce), Salisbury; six grandchildren; one nephew and one niece.
    The body is resting at her home, 54 MacDonald St, Oromocto. Funeral service will be held at the Oromocto United United Baptist Church at 2 pm, Sunday. Rev. Victor Mersereau will officiate.  Interment will be made in the Burton cemetery. (#2/DG)

KNOTT - Brice D.  (Rev. Dr)
= Sep 9 .... / Rev. Dr. Brice D. Knott, Minister of the 1st United Baptist Church Moncton, announced he will retire Oct 13th, due to eye strain, which makes it impossible to continue with the heavy studies of his position. He had been there for the past 7 years and Rev. Lorne Baker, assistant pastor will assume interim pastor duties.  Dr. & Mrs. Knott will reside in Truro, NS. (#1,TJ,?)
