Crossroads

CROSSROADS

The townsfolk throngs have departed
moved away from their Mountain homes
But their heart's desire has never thwarted
hillsides' memory they once roamed

Multitudes of highlanders' spirit
in their amygdalas' catacombs
Emotional yearning intelligence
are Mountaineers never outgrown

Moving beyond Mountain Passages
the Mountaineers' longing unfolds
Mountain thinking torment
for those wide places in the roads

Ever so many Mountain born people
homesick scores untold
Live between their hometown and country
at the Crossroads' Nostalgic Stronghold.
