(This is the abandoned Barber Cemetery, where Jesse, his wife Margaret, and daughter Margaret are all buried) The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Wick of Evansburg, a large concourse of citizens being in attendance to pay the last tribute of respect to a departed friend. The grandparents of Mr. Dennis were Quakers. They came to this country with Wm. Penn and settled in Quakertown near Philadelphia. Jesse Dennis, the father of the deceased, removed from Quakertown to Sussex Co., N.J. where he lived during the Revolutionary War. His family consisted of six boys, of which the deceased was next to the youngest. He removed to this county in 1834 and has since that time lived on the farm where he died."
