Topic Change! New web searching with Family Tree Maker and Familysearch.com – SIG Member and professional genealogist Avrum Geller will be doing an intial review of the new Family Tree Maker 2014. He will demonstrate creative shortcuts and tricks that can be used to manipulate Ancestry.com searches within Family Tree Maker software to better find the information you actually want. Then learn to show the results in the database in exactly the way that you prefer them to be shown. Avrum will also demonstrate how to better utilize FamilySearch.org by restricting searches to specific published collections. Find out how to manipulate searching within those collections, including a demonstration of obtaining originals of New York City naturalization records not yet otherwise available online.

Please remember to vote!Topic: Family History Reports – Beyond the Basics
As genealogical and historical publishers, the folks at Heritage Muse, David & Kate Kleiman, are always pushing the edge of using existing genealogy software to produce clear, well-designed, and readable, charts and reports for clients. We'll start the basics of what Family Tree Maker and Legacy can both do — and then move to what they need help with. We'll take a quick dip into Master Genealogist's SuperTools and the graphics software for enhancing your presentations (including Adobe Creative Suite, GIMP, and others). Lastly, if there is time we'll show a short video that might inspire some creative ideas for your historic maps.

Got a chart/report that you are proud of? Got one with problem you can't solve? Bring them along and show-and-tell! Hope that you can join us.
