- Tips, Tricks and Traps to Creating a Good Presentation Book from your Genealogical Database.
- October 17, 1999
- This year the annual Family History Fair will be held on Sunday, October 17,�at Dubinsky Student Center, Fashion Institute of Technology, corner of 27th Street and 8th Avenue, 6th floor.
- This annual event is free and open to the public. Many genealogical and historical societies as well as archives, vendors and other groups of interest to genealogists are there to meet and talk to the public. The Family History Fair is sponsored by the Archivists' Roundtable of New York. The members of the Genealogy & Family History SIG always provide lectures on computer issues of interest to genealogists. Volunteers are also needed for 1-2 hour durations during the Fair to staff the NYPC Genealogy & Family History table. If you wish to assist, please contact Cathy Horn.
- [Note:� The Westchester County Archives will also be having their annual Family History Fair on Saturday, October 16, at the Westchester County Center in White Plains near the White Plains railroad station.]

- Meeting Change Notice! Group chair David Kleiman will offer a presentation on Using Your Computer to Prepare for a Research Trip. Many of us spend time over the summer at genealogy conferences, on family vacations, etc. We have more time to get into both local and distant libraries and archives. Pick up some tips on using your desktop or laptop computer and software to make the most of your research time away from home.

- POSTPONED UNTIL NEXT YEAR: James Oppenheim, scheduled speaker for this Thursday, was called out of town on business this week. We will reschedule him for sometime in the fall. His topic is Family Projects Which Parents & Children of All Ages Can Do Together Using the Computer. Guest Speaker James Oppenheim, of the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio and editor of Child Magazine.
