Charles T. BERRYMAN, son of Wilson Penn BERRYMAN and Nancy SMITH, was born in 1846 in Madison County, Georgia. He served in the Confederate Army where he was severely injured. He took the oath of allegiance 12 June 1865. After the war he went to Arkansas where he married Susan Caledonia THORN, daughter of Jesse & Frances THORN, 20 October 1886, Craighead County, AR. At this time is it not known when he died but on the 1880 census, Susan was married to Cleo COLEMAN .
Charles and Susan had only one child, a daughter, Charley Ann BERRYMAN. Charley Ann married James Thomas TINER on 20 October 1886. Charley Ann was 16 years old and James was 21 years old. They moved to a house in the Pleasant Valley Community that was give to her and James as a wedding gift from William O'Guinn who had been married to both their mothers. He was married to Susan (Charley Ann's mother) at the time of his death. Children of Charley Ann and James Thomas Tiner:
Charley Ann died 17 June 1928 and James died 6 May 1965. They are buried in the Bowman Cemetery, Craighead County, Arkansas. |
