Asa J. TYLER was born in Georgia on 28 Jan 1811. His parents are unknown at this time. It appears that he may have come from the Jasper County area, but that is speculation at this point.

He was married to Mary Ann KELLY on 18 Dec 1831 in Jasper County, Georgia and to this marriage was born 10 children:

1. William T., b. abt. 1836. (Married (1) Martha F. WATTS and (2) Emeline WILKINSON).
2. John A., b. abt. 1838.
3. James H., b. abt. 1840.
4. Mary C., b. abt. 1842. (Married Jack S.? BRUCE).
5. Andrew Green, b. 21 May 1845, d. 17 Feb 1912. (Married Nancy Risby WEBB).
6. Henry Franklin, b. abt. 1847, d. bef. 1913. (Married (1) Susan ADAMS and (2) Sally C. PYE).
7. Asa A., b. abt. 1849. (Married Mary ????).
8. George P., b. 13 Feb 1852, d. 25 Feb 1923. (Married Mary M. ????).
9. Wesley W., b. 9 Jun 1855. (Married Mary Ella CHALKLEY).
10. James W., b. abt. 1859. (Married Sarah A. HENDRIX).

Mary Ann died on 8 Oct 1884 in Marion County, Georgia and is buried in the Brantley Church Cemetery there. Asa followed here in death on 5 Jun 1891 in Marion County, Georgia and is buried beside his wife.
