Thomas Bowlby of Mansfield Woodhouse was granted power of attorney by Martha (Barker) Bowlby, Edward Boulby(son of Jordan, his nephew), Elizabeth and Martha Boulby(his sisters), and William & Jane (Bowlby) Dalton(his sister) to manage the plantations and land in America) on 29 Jun 1743. He immigrated after 29 Jun 1743 to New Jersey. He resided on 10 Jun 1745 at Morris Co., NJ. He was a loyalist during the Revolutionary War. Capt. William Harrison Jr was born circa 1720 at Gloucester Co., NJ. He married Abigail Thorne, daughter of Thomas Thorne and Mary Harrison, on 6 Mar 1759 at New Jersey; date of license, 1st wife. He died in Apr 1787 at Philadelphia, PA. He was Captain of militia, company raised at own expense, in Col. Joseph Ellis' regiment during the revolution. He resided at Greenwich Twp., Gloucester Co., NJ.

10. Mary8 Bowlby (Thomas7, Thomas6, Bryan5, Richard4, John3, John2, Richard1) married Rev. John Hamilton Rowland 21 Feb 1770 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Philadelphia, PA; she died after 14 Mar 1787.
Rev. John Hamilton Rowland was born at England. He immigrated in 1768 to America; then returned to England. He resided at Philadelphia, PA. He resided at Virginia. He had 6 children. He resided at Staten Island, NY. He was Rector of St. Bride's, Norfolk Co in 1774. He immigrated in 1774 to St. Bride' Parish, Norfolk Co., VA. He was a loyalist during the Revolutionary War and spent much of that time in Virginia. He was Chaplain of Col. Morris' Second Battalion of New Jersey Volunteers in Jan 1778. He resided after 1786 at Shelbourne, Nova Scotia, Canada.

11. Catharine9 Wigfall (Rachel8 Bowlby, Thomas7, Thomas6, Bryan5, Richard4, John3, John2, Richard1) was born Feb 1773; she married Edward G. A. Bowlby 29 Mar 1794 at Christ Church, Philadelphia, PA; she died 22 Aug 1850 at age 77; she was buried at Christ Church Cemetery, Philadelphia, PA.
She and Edward G. A. Bowlby may have had a 4th son named Samuel L. Bowlby as there is a stone next to their daughter Catharine's that reads SAMUEL L. BOWLBY/DIED/MARCH 26, 1876. Another possibility is that Samuel was the son of daughter Catharine. Finally, Samuel may not have been a member of the immediate family.
Edward G. A. Bowlby was born circa 1766. He died on 8 Oct 1842. He was buried at Christ Church Cemetery, Philadelphia, PA. He resided at Philadelphia, PA. He was an ironmonger and hardware merchant. He may have been the son of Edward Bowlby who was the son of Jordan Bowlby. Jordan was the son of Thomas Bowlby and Martha Barker. Edward, son of Jordan, was in England in 1743 when he signed a power of attorney to Thomas Bowlby, his uncle. Edward is believed to have come to Morris Co., NJ, with his uncle before 1744 when he advertised for lost cattle. Edward may have had a son of the right age to marry Catharine Wigfall. Edward G.A. Bowlby was probably the Edward Bowlby who was listed as a passenger and immigrant from Great Britain in 1808, and who received naturalization papers in Philadelphia 3 Oct 1808. He left a will in 1839; proved 25 Oct 1842
