                    Somersetshire, England; m. Ann.


                          Generation Two

2.  Gov. Richard Bennett (Thomas1); b. 1608 at Wivelscombe,
Somersetshire, England; m. Ann circa 1641; d. 1675.
     He resided at London, England. He resided at Nansemond Co., VA.
He resided at Maryland. He was Governor between 1652 and 1655 at
Virginia. He left a will on 12 Apr 1675.

     Ann married John Utie.
     Known children of Gov. Richard Bennett and Ann were as follows:
     3.          i. Anne Bennett, m. Theodorick Bland; m. Col. St.
                    Leger Codd.
                ii. Richard Bennett Jr; m. Henrietta Maria Neale,
                    daughter of Capt. James Neale and Anna Maria Gill,
                    1667 at Charles Co., MD; 1st husband.
                    He resided at Greenbury Point, Anne Arundel Co.,
                    MD.
               iii. Elizabeth Bennett; m. Charles Scarburgh.


                          Generation Three

3.  Anne Bennett (Richard2, Thomas1); m. Theodorick Bland, son of John
Bland and Susan Dublere, 1660; 1st husband; m. Col. St. Leger Codd,
son of William Codd and Mary St. Leger; 2nd husband; d. Nov 1688 at
Wharton's Creek, Kent Co., MD.

     Theodorick Bland was baptized on 6 Jan 1629/30 at St. Antholin,
London, England. He immigrated in 1653 to Virginia. He was Speaker of
the House of Burgesses in 1660 at Virginia. He was a member of Council
between 1663 and 1671 at Virginia. He died on 23 Apr 1671 at age 41.
He was buried at 'Westover', Charles City Co., VA.

     Col. St. Leger Codd resided at Maryland. He resided at Virginia.
He married Ann Hynson, daughter of Thomas Hynson and Grace. He died in
1708/9.
