1.  Hon. Joseph Blackwell; b. at England.
     He immigrated in 1636 to Northumberland Co., VA.
     Known children of Hon. Joseph Blackwell include:
     2.          i. Hon. Samuel Blackwell, b. 23 Sep 1680; m. Margery
                    Downing.


                          Generation Two

2.  Hon. Samuel Blackwell (Joseph1); b. 23 Sep 1680; m. Margery
Downing, daughter of William Downing and Mary, 1710; 2nd husband; d. 5
Aug 1732 at age 51.
     He resided at 'Walnut Lodge', Northumberland Co., VA.
     Margery Downing was born in 1690. She married Joseph Hudnall in
1706; 1st husband.
     Known children of Hon. Samuel Blackwell and Margery Downing were
as follows:
                 i. Samuel Blackwell; b. 19 Jan 1710/11; m. Elizabeth
                    Steptoe, daughter of John Steptoe and Elizabeth;
                    d. 17 Oct 1762 at age 51.
                    He resided at Northumberland Co., VA.
                ii. Col. William Blackwell; b. 25 Apr 1713 at
                    Northumberland Co., VA; m. Elizabeth Crump 1734;
                    d. 10 Aug 1772 at Fauquier Co., VA, at age 59.
     3.        iii. Col. Joseph Blackwell, b. 9 Jul 1715 at
                    Northumberland Co., VA; m. Lucy Steptoe.
                iv. Eliza Blackwell; b. 9 Jan 1717.
                 v. Hannah Blackwell; b. 30 Mar 1720.


                          Generation Three

3.  Col. Joseph Blackwell (Samuel2, Joseph1); b. 9 Jul 1715 at
Northumberland Co., VA; m. Lucy Steptoe, daughter of John Steptoe and
Elizabeth, 1740; d. 30 May 1787 at Fauquier Co., VA, at age 71.
     Lucy Steptoe was born in 1720. She died after 1787.
     Known children of Col. Joseph Blackwell and Lucy Steptoe were as
follows:
                 i. Elizabeth Blackwell; b. 1742; m. Col. Charles
                    Chilton, son of Thomas Chilton and Jemima Cooke,
                    19 Dec 1760.
                ii. Capt. Samuel Blackwell; b. 1745 at Fauquier Co.,
                    VA; m. Elizabeth Tyler 1773; d. 1785 at
                    Northumberland Co., VA.
     4.        iii. Anna Blackwell, b. 1747; m. Col. Martin Pickett.
                iv. Lucy Blackwell; b. 1749; m. William Stanton, son
                    of Thomas Stanton and Dianna Field, 24 Sep 1773.
                 v. Letitia Blackwell; b. 3 Oct 1750; m. Capt. John
                    Chilton, son of Thomas Chilton and Jemima Cooke,
                    10 Dec 1765.
                vi. Maj. Joseph Blackwell; b. 1750 at Virginia; m. Ann
                    Eustace, daughter of Isaac Eustace and Agatha
                    Conway, 20 Dec 1784; 2nd husband; d. Oct 1826 at
                    Virginia.
                    He resided at Fauquier Co., VA.
               vii. George Steptoe Blackwell; b. 1753.
              viii. Gen. John Blackwell; b. 22 Mar 1755 at Virginia;
                    m. Agatha Ann Eustace, daughter of Isaac
                    Eustace and Agatha Conway; 1st wife; m. Judith
                    Lee, daughter of Kendall Lee and Betty Heale; 2nd
                    wife, 3rd husband; m. Fanny Parker, daughter of
                    Judge Richard Parker and Mary Beale, 28 Nov 1804;
                    3rd wife; d. 1808 at Ohio.
                    He resided at Fauquier Co., VA.
                ix. Judith Blackwell; b. 1759; m. Capt. Thomas
                    Randolph Keith, son of Rev. James Keith and Mary
                    Isham Randolph, 23 May 1775; d. 1867.


                          Generation Four

4.  Ann Blackwell (Joseph3, Samuel2, Joseph1); b. 1747; m. Col.
Martin Pickett, son of William Pickett and Elizabeth Cooke, 31 May
1764; d. before 1800.
     Col. Martin Pickett resided at 'Paradise', Fauquier Co., VA.
He was born 12-25-1736 at King George Co., VA. He died in Apr 1804 at
Fauquier Co., VA.
