He left a nuncupative will on 18 Oct 1626.

     Dorothy Bedell married Hon. Roger Wingate, son of Roger Wingate;
2nd husband.

Robert Higginson and Joanna Tokesey, 1648; 1st husband; d. 18 Nov 1653
at age 31; bur. at Abington Church, Gloucester Co., VA.
     He resided at 'Carter's Creek', Gloucester Co., VA. He resided at
'Fairfield', Gloucester Co., VA.

     Lucy Higginson married Col. William Bernard, son of Francis
Bernard and Mary Woolhouse; 2nd husband. She married Col. Philip
Ludwell, son of Thomas Ludwell and Jane Cottington; 3rd husband, 1st
wife. She died on 6 Nov 1675. She died on 16 Nov 1675 at Virginia.

Lear; 2nd husband, 2nd wife; d. 1710.
     He resided at 'King's Creek', York Co., VA. He resided at
'Carter's Creek', Gloucester Co., VA. He was a governor of the College
of William and Mary in 1702. He was a member of Council between 1702
and 1711 at Virginia. He left a will on 11 Oct 1710; proved 10 Feb
1710/11.

     Abigail Smith was born on 11 Mar 1656/57. She resided at
Colchester, England. She died on 12 Nov 1692 at York Co., VA, at age
35.

     She resided at 'Carter's Creek', Gloucester Co., VA.

     Hon. William Bassett was born in 1671. He resided at 'Eltham',
New Kent Co., VA. He was a member of the House of Burgesses between
1692 and 1702 at New Kent Co., VA. He was a member of Council between
1707 and 1711 at Virginia. He died on 11 Oct 1723.
     Known children of Joanna Burwell and Hon. William Bassett include:

Hannah Churchill; d. 30 Dec 1734 at age 57.
     She resided at 'Carter's Creek', Gloucester Co., VA.

     Hon. Benjamin Harrison was born circa 1673. He resided at
'Berkeley', Charles City Co., VA. He was a member of the House of
Burgesses between 1703 and 1706 at Virginia. He was Speaker of the
House of Burgesses between 1705 and 1706 at Virginia. He was Treasurer
between 1705 and 1710 at Virginia. He died on 10 Apr 1710 at
'Berkeley', Charles City Co., VA.

     He resided at 'Fairfield', Gloucester Co., VA. He resided at
'Carter's Creek', Gloucester Co., VA. He was a member of the House of
Burgesses at Virginia. He left a will in Aug 1721.

     Elizabeth Carter was born in 1692 at 'Corotoman', Lancaster Co.,
VA. She married Dr. George Nicholas in 1724; 2nd husband. She died in
1734.

8.  Martha Burwell (Lewis4, Lewis3, Edward2, Edward1); baptized 16 Nov
1685; m. Col. Henry Armistead, son of Col. John Armistead and Judith,
circa 1701; d. after Dec 1710.

     Col. Henry Armistead resided at Gloucester Co., VA. He resided at
'Hesse', Middlesex Co., VA. He was a member of the House of Burgesses
between 1728 and 1734 at Virginia. He died after 13 Jun 1746.

9.  Martha Burwell (Lewis4, Lewis3, Edward2, Edward1); b. 1703; m.
Col. John Martin; d. 27 May 1738.

     Col. John Martin was born in 1685. He resided at Bristol,
England. He resided at King and Queen Co., VA. He resided at
'Clifton', Caroline Co., VA. He was a member of the House of Burgesses
between 1738 and 1740 at Virginia. He resided at Dublin, Ireland. He
left a will on 30 Apr 1760 at Dublin, Ireland; proved 15 Oct 1760.

and Elizabeth Landon, 1722; d. 1744/45.
     He resided at 'Berkeley', Charles City Co., VA. He and Anne
Carter resided at 'Berkeley', Charles City Co., VA. He was a member of
the House of Burgesses at Virginia.

     Anne Carter was born in 1702 at 'Corotoman', Lancaster Co., VA.
She died after 1743.
     Known children of Col. Benjamin Harrison IV and Anne Carter include:
                 i. Anne Harrison; b. circa 1722; m. William Randolph
                    III, son of Col. William Randolph Jr. and
                    Elizabeth Beverley, 1735; d. 1745.

1710; m. Anne Holden; 1st wife; m. Mary Willis, daughter of Col.
Francis Willis and Anne Rich, 1736; 2nd wife; m. Frances 1745; 3rd
wife, 2nd husband; d. before Mar 1752.
     He and Mary Willis resided at 'Whitemarsh', Gloucester Co., VA.
He was President of Council at Virginia. He resided at 'Carter's
Creek', Gloucester Co., VA. He was Governor under the Crown in 1750 at
Virginia.

     Mary Willis was born in 1718. She died in 1746.
     Known children of Lewis Burwell and Mary Willis were as follows:

13.  Rebecca Lewis Burwell (Lewis6, Nathaniel5, Lewis4, Lewis3,
Edward2, Edward1); b. 29 May 1746 at Gloucester Co., VA; m. Jaquelin
Ambler, son of Richard Ambler and Elizabeth Jaquelin, May 1764.

     Jaquelin Ambler was born on 9 Aug 1742 at Virginia. He resided at
Jamestown, VA. He was Treasurer of VA. He died on 10 Feb 1798 at
Virginia at age 55.

                    Keith Marshall, son of Chief Justice John Marshall
