4.  Joshua Shreve (Caleb2, Thomas1Sheriff); b. 5 Apr 1692 at Monmouth
Co., NJ; m. Mary Creeke, daughter of James Creeke and Frances Chucher,
circa 1713; 1st wife; m. Jane; 2nd wife; d. circa 1751/52.
     He left a will on 30 Mar 1751; proved 2 Apr 1753.

     Known children of Joshua Shreve include:
                 i. Faith Shreve; b. at Springfield Twp., NJ; m.
                    Israel Butler 2mo 5 1750.

     Known children of Joshua Shreve and Mary Creeke all b. at
Springfield Twp., NJ, were as follows:

                ii. Mary Shreve; m. Samuel Curtis, son of David Curtis
                    and Rachel Wright, 14 Jan 1730/31 at Christ

                iv. James Shreve; m. Leah Davis 8mo 6 1737.
                 v. Susannah Shreve; m. John Beck 1 Jul 1737; 1st
                    wife; d. before 22 Feb 1747/48.
                vi. Caleb Shreve; b. 16 Aug 1717; d. 8 Feb 1810 at
                    Bedford Co., PA, at age 92.
               vii. Mercy Shreve; b. 8mo 9 1725; m. Micajah Mathis 1mo
                    4 1747; d. 1804.


                          Generation Four

5.  Thomas Shreve (Joseph3, Caleb2, Thomas1Sheriff); m. Sarah Shreve,
daughter of Joshua Shreve and Mary Creeke, 17 Aug 1737 at Christ
Church, Philadelphia, PA; d. 1782.

     Sarah Shreve was born at Springfield Twp., NJ.
     Known children of Thomas Shreve and Sarah Shreve were:
     7.          i. Hope Shreve, m. William Cowperthwaite.


                          Generation Five

7.  Hope Shreve (Thomas4, Joseph3, Caleb2, Thomas1Sheriff); m. William
Cowperthwaite, son of Thomas Cowperthwaite and Mary Borden, 4 Feb
1767; 1st wife; d. 7 Nov 1789.

     William Cowperthwaite was born on 2 Jul 1745. He resided at
Burlington, NJ. He married Hope Wallis, daughter of Thomas Wallis and
Hope Lippincott, on 3 Mar 1791; 2nd wife, 2nd husband. He died on 1
May 1818 at age 72.
