Reade Family

                     Generation One

1.  Robert Reade; b. circa 1575; m. Mildred Windebank, daughter of Sir
Thomas Windebank and Frances Dymoke, 31 Jul 1600; 3rd wife; d. 1626 at
Linkenholt, Hampshire, England.
     He resided at Linkenholt Manor, Hampshire, England.

     Mildred Windebank was born at England. She died between Oct 1656
and 1657 at Virginia.
     Known children of Robert Reade and Mildred Windebank include:
     2.          i. Col. George Reade, b. 25 Oct 1608 at Linkenholt
                    Manor, Hampshire, England; m. Elizabeth Martiau.


                     Generation Two

2.  Col. George Reade (Robert1); b. 25 Oct 1608 at Linkenholt Manor,
Hampshire, England; m. Elizabeth Martiau, daughter of Capt. Nicolas
Martiau and Jane, 1641 at York; d. Oct 1674 at Virginia; bur. at
Yorktown, VA.
     He immigrated circa 1637 to Virginia. He was Acting Governor
between 1638 and 1639 at Virginia. He was a member of the House of
Burgesses in 1649 at Virginia. He was a member of Council between 1657
and 1671 at Virginia. He left a will on 29 Sep 1670; proved 21 Nov
1671.

     Elizabeth Martiau was born by 12 Dec 1625 at Elizabeth City, VA.
She left a will on 10 Feb 1685/86; proved 24 Jan 1686/87. She died in
1686. She was buried at Yorktown, VA.
     Known children of Col. George Reade and Elizabeth Martiau were as
follows:

                    m. Col. Augustine Warner II.

                    Chisman; 1st wife; m. Anne by 23 May 1693; 2nd
                    wife.
                 v. Benjamin Reade; b. circa 1647 at Virginia; m. Mary
                    Gwynn; d. 1731.
                vi. Thomas Reade; b. circa 1645 at Virginia; m. Lucy
                    Gwyn, daughter of Dr. Edmund Gwyn and Lucy
                    Bernard.
               vii. Elizabeth Reade; b. circa 1651; m. Capt. Thomas
                    Chisman, son of Edmund Chisman.
                    She resided at York Co., VA.
              viii. Ann Reade; b. circa 1652 at York Co., VA; m.
                    George Holms.
                ix. Margaret Reade; b. circa 1654 at York Co., VA.
                 x. Mary Reade.


                     Generation Three

3.  Mildred Reade (George2, Robert1); b. 2 Oct 1643 at Williamsburg,
VA; m. Col. Augustine Warner II, son of Col. Augustine Warner and Mary
Towneley, 1665; 2nd wife; d. circa 1695.
     She and Col. Augustine Warner II resided at 'Chesake', Gloucester
Co., VA. She and Col. Augustine Warner II resided at 'Warner Hall',
Gloucester Co., VA. She left a will on 4 Jan 1694/95.

     Col. Augustine Warner II was born on 3 Jul 1642 at York Co., VA.
He was Speaker of the House of Burgesses at Virginia. He was a member
of Council at Virginia. He married Anne Fisher; 1st wife. He left a
will on 16 May 1679. He died on 19 Jun 1681 at age 38. He was buried
at 'Warner Hall', Gloucester Co., VA.

4.  Robert Reade (George2, Robert1); m. Mary Lilly, daughter of John
Lilly.
     He left a will on 30 Dec 1712; proved 16 Mar 1712/13.

     Mary Lilly left a will; proved 20 Nov 1722.
     Known children of Robert Reade and Mary Lilly include:
     5.          i. Margaret Reade, m. Thomas Nelson.


                     Generation Four

5.  Margaret Reade (Robert3, George2, Robert1); m. Thomas Nelson; 1st
wife.

     Thomas Nelson was born on 20 Feb 1677/78. He resided at Yorktown,
York Co., VA. He married Frances Courtenay; 2nd husband, 2nd wife. He
died on 7 Oct 1745 at age 67.
