England; m. Hannah Cerie, daughter of Thomas Cerie and Sarah, 1696; d.
1724; bur. at East Nottingham, Chester Co., PA.
He resided at Saffron Waldo, Essex, England. He immigrated in
1682 to Pennsylvania. He and Hannah Cerie resided in 1704 at
Nottingham, Chester Co., PA.
Hannah Cerie was also known as Hannah Ceery. She was born in
1676. She died on 22 Sep 1759. She was buried at East Nottingham,
Chester Co., PA.
Known children of Rev. John Churchman and Hannah Cerie were as
follows:
i. George Churchman; b. 13 Sep 1697 at Chester Twp.,
Chester Co., PA; d. 29 Apr 1767 at age 69.
ii. Dinah Churchman; b. 7 Aug 1699 at Chester Twp.,
Chester Co., PA; m. Mercer Brown, son of William
Brown and Anne Mercer, 11 Feb 1728; d. 1 Jan 1766
at age 66.
iii. Susanna Churchman; b. 13 Sep 1701 at Chester Twp.,
Chester Co., PA; m. Rev. William Brown, son of
William Brown and Hester Baker, 11 Apr 1728; d. 25
Aug 1790 at near Belair, MD, at age 88; bur. at
Little Falls Bury Ground, Harford Co., MD.
iv. John Churchman; b. 1703; d. 1703.
v. John Churchman; b. 4 Aug 1705; m. Margaret Brown,
daughter of William Brown and Hester Baker, 27 Jan
1729/30; d. 24 Jul 1775 at age 69; bur. at East
Nottingham, Chester Co., PA.
He was a surveyor.
vi. Thomas Churchman; b. 16 Jan 1707; m. Rachel
Piggott; d. 8 Apr 1788 at age 81.
2. vii. Miriam Churchman, b. 25 Oct 1710; m. James Brown.
viii. Edward Churchman; b. 4 Nov 1713; d. Feb 1732/33 at
age 19.
ix. Sarah Churchman; b. 17 May 1716; m. Joseph
Trimble, son of William Trimble and Mary, circa
1744; d. 2 Oct 1750 at age 34.
x. William Churchman; b. 29 Jan 1720; m. Abigail
Brown, daughter of Daniel Brown and Elizabeth
Kirk, 10 Aug 1743.
Generation Two
2. Miriam Churchman (John1); b. 25 Oct 1710; m. James Brown, son of
William Brown and Hester Baker, 4 Dec 1734 at Nottingham Meeting,
Chester Co., PA; d. 19 Nov 1750 at age 40.
James Brown was born circa 1712. He married Elizabeth Elgar on
14 Mar 1753. He died on 2 Apr 1772 at Wilmington, DE.
