A retired City of New Iberia fireman and veteran of the U.S. armed forces, Louviere was formerly an usher at St. Nicholas Catholic Church and was in charge of the Lydia Volunteer Fire Department after retirement from the NIFD. He played on the NIFD softball team and liked to fish, hunt and dance.
Visitation is today, May 2, 2005, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at David Funeral Home in New Iberia. A rosary service will be today at 6 p.m. Visitation will continue at the funeral home Tuesday, May 3, 2005, at 8 a.m.
Funeral services Tuesday, May 3, 2005, will begin at 11 a.m. at St. Nicholas Cemetery in Patoutville.
Louviere is survived by his wife, Sylvia Louviere of Morgan City; four sons, Ronald ?Ronnie? Louviere of Breaux Bridge, Elwood Louviere of Lydia, Rodney Louviere of New Iberia and James Louviere of Conroe, Texas; a sister, Amita Landry of Convent; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Adam Joseph Louviere; mother, Mary Bonin Sedotol; three sisters, Olite Hasha, Marie Alcena Bouillion and Virginia Roberts; and a brother, S.J. Louviere.
Pallbearers will be Ronald ?Ronnie? Louviere, Elwood Louviere, James Louviere, Chad Louviere, Earl Mayon and L.J. Larive.
Services are under the direction of David Funeral Home, Trotter Street, New Iberia.
