LYDIA - Funeral services for John Broussard, 82, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Nicholas Catholic Church with the Rev. Richard Fabre officiating. Entombment will be in Holy Family Mausoleum.

A native of Bayou Jack and a resident of Lydia, Mr. Broussard died at 10:51 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2004, at Iberia Medical Center. Mr. Broussard was an employee for Morton Chemical as a Maintenance Mechanic. He enjoyed flower gardening and watching the animals and birds. He cherished his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren. He was a member of the VFW Post 365 in Lydia. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the US Navy.

He is survived by his son, Lynn Broussard and his wife, Gayle of Lydia; two brothers, Bob Ray Broussard of Lydia and Wayne Broussard of New Iberia; his grandson, Brady Broussard and his wife, Wendy of Lydia; his granddaughter, Jamie B. Derise and her husband, Brady of Lydia; his great-grandson, Max Derise of Lydia; and his great-granddaughter, Gabrielle Derise of Lydia.

Mr. Broussard was preceded in death by his wife, Marion Lasseigne Broussard; his father, Louis Broussard; his mother, Louise Broussard Broussard; his son, Neil Broussard; and his sister, Jean B. Prince.
