CLARENCE B* Bridgete Breaux was clarence b 163.
Birth*17 March 1719 She was born on 17 March 1719 at Rivere Aux Canards, Grand Pre, St-Charles des Mines Parish.1,2
She was the daughter of Pierre Breaux and Anne Le Blanc
Marriage*circa 1739 Bridgete Breaux married Charles Thibodeau, son of Michel Thibodeau and Agnes Dugas, circa 1739 at Port Royal.3,1
Census*12 August 1763 Bridgete Breaux and Charles Thibodeau appeared on the census of 12 August 1763 at Halifax; Brigitte Breau, widow of Charles Thibodeau, did come to Louisiana with Joseph Brossard's group.

In the 12th August 1763 listing of prisoners in Halifax, just above "Bonneaveture Gauden" is:
Cherle Tibaudo his wife three children
These are Charles Thibodeau, his wife Brigitte Breau and their children Anselme, Anne, and Marie-Louise. This indicates Charles was alive in August 1763.

I have a note: 1764 Antilles (Saint-Domingue) Brigitte a widow. Sorry I don't
have the source for that note. This indicates Charles died before late 1764.

On 1 April 1765 in New Orleans, Brigitte received a receipt from merchant Antoine de St. Maxent for 48 livres in Canadian card money and an additional 821.12 livres in Canadian paper money.

On 5 August 1765 Brigitte died in Attakapas District (Hebert v 1A p 112).

Brigitte died before the first census of the Attakapas District on 25 April
1766, but in that census are listed (Voorhies p. 124):
Attakapas-Bayou Queue de Tortue (near present day Broussard, LA)
Anselmo Thiboudeau 1 girl

These are the children of Charles and Brigitte: Anselme age 17 and Anne age
11. The third child Marie-Louise age 2 was not with them.

The 1769 census of Attakapas has Anselme (20) and Marie-Louise (5) as members
of Rene Trahan's household.

The 1771 census of Attakapas has Anne (16) as a member of Joseph Broussard's
household.

Hope this helps.

Story* Notes on: Pierre Firmin Breaux
Get new story from Clarence Breaux's new book
Jan 2000. #16A3.
(RN=138) (CBL.42) Firmin was deported to the Boston area in 1755 along with his parents
and other members of the family. He is listed as being with the family at Hingham,
Massachusetts, in 1760 and 1761. In 1766,when his parents decided to migrate to Canada, Firmin
left then and went to Louisiana where in the 25 April 1766 census of the District of LaPointe,
he is listed as a bachelor living at Bayou Tortue. Soon thereafter he must have moved to the
District of St. Jacques de Cabahannocer (present day Ascension and St. James Parishes). He
married at L'Ascension and in the 4 September 1769 census of that area he is listed as occupying
lot 86 on the west bank of the Mississippi River. He was still in Ascension Parish in 1774 but
within the next two years he returned to the Attakapas District, having acquired on 8 October
1771 a large tract of land at La Pointe on Bayou Teche, on both sides of the bayou, extending on
the west to Bayou Vermilion and on the eastto the forty arpent road east of Bayou Teche. He is
listed on the 1 May 1777 roll of the Attakapas Militia as a member of Captain Augustin
Grevenberg's Company which answered the call of Governor Bernardo de Galvez to join the
expedition that captured the British forts in the lower Mississippi Valley. Firmin was
therefore an American Revolutionary War patriot and his descendants are eligible for membership
in the Sons or Daughters of the American Revolution. As of 14 March 1786 Firmin was living on
the west bank of Bayou Teche at La Pointe and continued to live there until his death. The 1808
"general census of the owners of immovable property, the number of their slaves and
the assessment ; of every inhabitant of the Parish of Attakapas" lists Firmin as proprietor of
14 Negroes and of ten arpents frontage along the water (Bayou Teche). This is further confirmed
by his succession dated 30 January 1809 which also shows him as having some land at La Grand
Prairie (now Lafayette). Firmin's widow also continued to live at La Pointe until her death.
Firmin's son Agricole built a bridge connecting the Breaux properties on the east and west banks
of Bayou Teche, which gave rise to the name Breaux Bridge both for the bridge and the town which
until then had been known as La Pointe.
Firmin and Marguerite produced thirteen children.

My Grandmother May Louvier Ballard always told us her only Brother and her Daddy (Elias Louvier) worked at the Texas Company Island on that day.Ennis and two other Men entered a outside elavator and when the door closed it made a spark and there was a small tank under the elevator that had a leak. The spark ignited the leak in the tank and the three men flew into the air and were also burned badley...Ennis ended up on a rail road track in the area. Ennis and his Dad Elias road in the ambulance togeather to St.Marys Hospital. Elias always told the family that Ennis just kept telling him its alright dad I don't hurt... Ennis was burned so severely all his clothes were burned off of him. He died the third day.Great Grandpa Elias Louvier never went back to work there. It really was hard on both his parents I can only imagine...Ennis had never married but our Grandmother May always told us the girls just loved him.And there was a special girl he cared for if I remember right her name was Dorthy Higginbotham...I have always been interested in genalogy and Family History that is why I do have most of my Grandmothers pictures that I have posted on my Facebook...Thanks for posting your pictures of the Louviers I really enjoyed looking at them. (RN=156) (CBE.18) Amand probably arrived in Louisiana in early 1765 with his parents. The
25 April 1766 census shows him living at Bayou Queue de Tortue, in the Attakapas area.
On 15 July 177l, at Pointe Coupee (now New Roads), Louisiana, he married Helene Landry but she
died within a few years. In February 1772 the Spanish Governor, Luis de Unzaga, gave him a 451
arpent land grant on both sides of Bayou Teche at the upper end of the place known as Fausse
Pointe. Amand is on the roll of the Attakapas Militia on 20 June 1774 and again on that of 1 May
1777. By 1792 he had become an affluent cattleman and planter, having acquired the nearby land
grants of his brothers Claude and Joseph, also 1600 arpents of land near Lake Fausse Pointe and
lands at Petite Anse, Lake Peigneur and Grosse Isle. At about this time he built his home on
the land acquired from Joseph at Fausse Pointe (now Loreauville). The inventory taken at his
death showed that the plantation at Fausse Pointe included the main house, a separate kitchen, a
potato cabin, a small barn, a school house, a schoolmaster's house, an old barn, a cotton gin
and press, a stone mill and a blacksmith shop. The inventory also included 21 slaves with their
6 children, farm implements, household items, animals and six tracts of land. The main Acadian
house has been restored and placed on the National Register of Historic Places; relocated
to 1400 East Main Street, New Iberia, La. (As of Dec 1988)

Note* Helene Landry Second Generation at Bayou Teche, Fausse Pointe, Louisiana.
Birth*1757 She was born in 1757 at Oxford, Maryland; ?
The parents of Théotiste Thibodeau was Charles Thibodeau and Brigette Breau.
Théotiste Thibodeau was enumerated in the census of Cabannocey in 1766 as the
widow of Bonnaventure Godin and living with her five year old daughter
Susanne Godin.
Théotiste Thibodeaux Godin, Bonnaventure Godin, and her parents were
emprisoned at Halifax until the treaty of 1763. It is believed by some that
she and her mother came to Louisiana with Beausolil Broussard.

When Firmin Landry arrived in Louisiana, now a widower of his first wife
Françoise Thibodeau (parents unknown) and the father of 4 (2 girls were born
in Maryland prior to the 1766 census), he married Théotiste Thibodeau and the
family (including Théotiste's daughter established in the Attakapas (St.
Martinville), where Firmin is listed in the 1769 Opelousas cattle brand book.

Brigette Breaud died in St. Martinville. No record of the date that her
father Charles Thibodeau died. He apparently died in prison or on the trip to
Louisiana.
