I recently purchased the book History of Avoyelles Parish by Corinne L. Saucier, M.A. It is full of valuable genealogy information on the early Pointe Coupee lines that went to Avoyelles and then later to Opelousas/Attakapas. It also has solved the date and location of the death of Charles D'Amour [D'Amour or Louviere D'Amour] - he died in Avoyelles Parish the night of or the night before Nov. 12, 1793!
before 1824 - ref: see J.B. (3075) death record.

Immigration*February 1765 Anne Thibodeaux dite Nanette immigrated in February 1765; Acadian.1
Psgr List*February 1765 She was found on a passenger list in February 1765 at New Orleans; with party from Halifax via St.-Domingue led by Joseph BROUSSARD dit Beausoleil.1
Census*25 April 1766 She and Jean Anselme Thibodeaux appeared on the census of 25 April 1766 at Bayou Queue de Tortue, Broussard, LA; first census of the Attakapas District

Brigitte died before the first census of the Attakapas District on 25 April 1766, but in that census are listed (Voorhies p. 124):
Attakapas-Bayou Queue de Tortue (near present day Broussard, LA)
Anselmo Thiboudeau 1 girl

These are the children of Charles and Brigitte: Anselme age 17 and Anne age
11. The third child Marie-Louise age 2 was not with them.

The 1769 census of Attakapas has Anselme (20) and Marie-Louise (5) as members
of Rene Trahan's household.

The 1771 census of Attakapas has Anne (16) as a member of Joseph Broussard's
household.

Hope this helps.
