Frederique Louvier (Register's number -414)
"Public Lands" 182, no. 245 (no.115 - 414)
"Frederique Louvier claims - superficial arpents of land, situated on the east side of Bayou
Teche, in the country of Attakapas, bounded on the west by land of Francois Louvier, on the
north by that of Antoine deBuclet, and on the south by Amand Broussard's claim, at the extremity
of Francois Louvier's land. Claimed under a requete by Francois Louvier (Claimainant's father)
for a continuation of his depth, with certificate of vacancy, dated 14-Jan-1796 by Francois Caso
Luengo, then commandant. The requete accompanies the notice. The evidence of Neuville De
Clouet, taken the 23rd of Oct, 1812, states that, about 18 years ago, the land was cultivated by
the Negroes of Gravembert, but how long, he does not know; That upon their removal, Tierney
Broussard took possession and cultivated it two or three years; that for the last seven years,
the land has been unoccupied, but that the claimant has since Broussards removal, taken his
firewood and timber off of it for the use of thea djoining tract, on which he resides and which
is destitute ofwood.
