I Thomas Martin of Albemarle County & Parish of St. Anns being in perfect mind and memory but caling to mind the mortality of my Body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this my last will and Testament that is to say first of all I give & recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it and my Body to the Earth to be buried in decent Christian Burial at the discretion of my Executors--and as Tutching such worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to Blefs me with this Life, I give devise & be queath in the following manner and form Item, my will and desire is after paying my Just Debts, I lend to my wife Mary Martin all that Tract of Land and plantation contain- ing Two hundred & forty-six acres lying in the County of Al bemarle, taking in the Cove meeting House & Joining Tandy Key during her natural life or widowhood also the following Slaves I lend to my said wife (By name) Jack, Darkeye, Winney, Daniel, James, Major, Dinah & Matt also one Sorrel Horse Three choice cows & calves three breading Sows, three Ews & Lambs, one half of my Table & Kitchen furniture one plane walnut Table, two featherbeds & furniture one half of my Seting chears likewise I give to my wife Mary her present Loom & gear, wheals Cards & Hackles likewise sufficient fodder & Hay to winter her Stock. My will and deisre is whenever my wife removes to the place above mentioned my Exors hereafter mentioned shall deliver to her for her use eight hundred pounds of [looks like neet or nut] pork forty Barrels of corn Thirty Bushels wheat & plantation Tools suf- ficient for her people to go on with their plantation businefs likewise ten pounds cash. Item, my will is after the Decease of my Wife, I give & bequeath unto my Son Abraham Martin the Land negroes Stock and Household furniture with the whole of their increase as lent to my wife above, also one young Sorrel mair, one Black Horse called Cuff one half of my wagon & gear & one half of my wheat Fann Three Hundred acres land in Kentucky Located by Colo. Bn. Logan provided the Title hold good, to him & his heirs forever. Item, I give and bequeath unto my son George Martin the Land and premises whereon I now live containing three hundred and Sixty three acres more or lefs, also the following Slaves, Peter, Will, Pompy, Robin, Phillis & Lucey one feather Bed & furniture, one faling leaf Table, my Desk & Book Case the half of my Table and Kitchen furniture heretofore reserved that half of my seting Chears likewise reserved I give to my said Son George Martin, also that half of my wagon & gear also that half of my wheat Fann heretofore reserved, I give to my said son George likewise my young Black Horse, forty Barrels Corn, Thirty Bushels of wheat, Eight hundred weight of [?] Neet pork, three cows & calves three Breeding Sows plantation To..[torn] Sufficient for the first year, also fodder & Hay sufficient to win..[torn] his Stock, also three Hundred acres of Land in Kentucky [torn]..ed by Colo. B. Logan provided the Title holds good, to him [ torn ] forever. Item, I give and bequeath unto my gran Son Martin Moor three Hundred acres of Land in Kentucky Located by Colo. B. Logan provided the title hold good, also my Black Mair colt & Riding Saddle to him & his heirs forever. Item, I give and Bequeath unto my Son Thomas Martin Seventy pounds Specie to be paid to him by my Exors in Twelve months after my Deceased Item, I give and bequeath unto my gran Daughter Milley Moor one feather Bed & furniture to her & her heirs forever. Item my fur ther will is that all the Rest of my Estate Real and personal or of whatsoever nature it may be shall be sold by my Exors & Equally divided amongst the following Children Charles Martin, John Martin, Thomas Martin, Pleasant Martin, George Martin, Litty Moor, Milley Oglesby, Nancy M. Blane, Molley Dawson Martin Moor. Lastly I constitute & appoint Samuel Murrell Tandy Key, George Martin & Pleasant Martin Exors of this my last will and Testa ment, hereby utterly disallowing all other wills & Testaments by me made Ratifying & Confirming this & no other to be my last will and Testament In witnefs hereof I have hereunto set my hand & Seal this Twenty fifth day of July 1792.
