1769-1770 estimated birth year Hiram Traylor, son of William, based on first appearance in extant Wilkes Co. tax record 1791. He was likely born in Dinwiddie County, Virginia.

1793 Wilkes Co. Georgia Tax List, Capt. Sanders Dist: John Banks, Matthew Sparks, Thomas Traylor, Dunstal Banks, William Traylor, James Brooks, Paskel Traylor, Randolph Traylor, Hiram Traylor. [Hudson p. 500-502] LSS note: Of this group, only Hiram is without property; Paskel owns a slave. This tax district fell into Oglethorpe County when it was created December 1793. [Handybook]

1800 Pendleton District South Carolina Census: #452 Hyrum Trayler 2 males under 10; 1 male 26-45; 1 female under 10; 1 female 10-16; 1 female 26-45 [LD] LSS note: Hiram, son of William, does not appear on the 1800 Oglethorpe Co. GA census, but neither does his brother Randolph who was in Jackson or Clarke Co. GA. To my knowledge this Hyrum has not been identified with any Traylor family so far.

1802 August Halifax Co. Virginia Court Session: Hiram Traylor named as one of legatees in lawsuit Richard Bradshaw vs Thomas Traylor (as administrator & legatee of William Traylor dec'd) et al. [Halifax Co. VA Pleas Bk 21 p. 105]

1820 Payments made by the "estate of Randolph Traylor dec'd" as reported on the Annual Return filed 1821 in Lawrence County, Mississippi include: "to Hiram Traylor his account against the Estate $131.15." [Lawrence Co. MS Case #5308, Box 9, Randolph Trailor estate. Joseph Cooper and Matthew Traylor Administrators.] LSS note: This is the only mention of Hiram in the probate papers. Researchers agree the wording "his account against" suggests he was owed the amount for services rendered or loan made to Randolph or his estate. However the amount received is very close to the amounts received by legatees Matthew Traylor and Sarah Traylor. Additionally the payment to Matthew in the same account record is written in the exact same words.

The other Hiram Traylor appears in Tennessee records with Sparks siblings of William and Edy (Sparks) Traylor -- Isaac and Bailey. There may be nothing more than pure coincidence.

1841 October 30, birth in Humphreys Co. TN Thomas B. Traylor, son of Hiram B. and Martha B. (Adams) Traylor. [Johnson p. 13, 15, 21, 80, 20, 71, 102, 103] LSS note: Thomas was clerk of Humphreys Co. Circuit and Criminal Courts. The entry adds he was one of five sons and three daughters.

1848 September 1 birth in Humphreys Co. TN William S. Traylor, son of Hiram B. [Johnson p. 13, 15, 21, 80, 20, 71, 102, 103] LSS note: William was Deputy Sheriff of Humphrey's Co.

1900 June 7 death Capt. Thomas B. Traylor, Waverly, TN [Confederate Veteran, vol. 9, 1901, p. 81] R. C. Carnell writes of Comrade Traylor: He was born October 31, 1841; and died June 7, 1900 in his native county. His father, Hiram B. Traylor was a prominent official of Humphreys County. He (Hiram) came to Tennessee with his parents from Georgia in 1809. His mother was a daughter of Sylvester Adams, a Virginia, who came to Tennessee in 1806.
