Note: This is about the time that Amos & Mary (Carmicael) Ladd of Stokes Co.
>From Deed Book I - 1852-1854 Trigg County, KY
1 Mar 1852 - William H. Ladd was highest bidder and "became purchaser thereof" for
$161 five tracts of land in Trigg. Purchaed from H. C. Burnett, Commissioner in
Chancery, per degree from Trigg Circuit Court at August Term 1851 on petition of
the heirs of William Ladd, deceased for the sale of land to sell to the highest
bidder.
About 50 acres, part of a 400 acres survey and patented to Thomas Alberry.
Boundaries mention included 75 acre survey sold by Thomas Alberry to Benjamin
Ladd.
1 Jan 1853 - William T. Newman and Agnes E. Newman, formerly Morrison, his wife of
Christian Co., KY sold to William Ladd of Trigg county a parcel in Trigg on the
waters of the Muddy Fork. Boundaries included land owned by John Ladd.
1857 - 1859 Trigg Co., KY Deeds
5 Feb 1857 - Irby Guthrie of Trigg, Co., KY purchased from Richard Shackelford and
America R. Shackelford of New Orleans, LA for $1100 a "Tract of the waters of the
Muddy Fork of Little River. 138 acres conveyed to James Morrison from Edward B.
Ladd and adjoining the land of John Ladd, Sr. and known as the old Ladd Place,
being part of a 200 acre survey _____ to Benjamin Ladd, Sr., bounded by.....E. B.
Ladd's house and corner to William Ladd's"
19 Feb 1857 - Irby Guthrie and Mary A. Guthrie of the County of Trigg sold to
William H. Ladd of Trigg for $550 a tract on the waters of the Muddy Fork and is
bounded by John Ladd's 80 acres.
31 Oct 1857 - James Gilfoy and Elmira Gilfoy, his wife sold to Susannah Ladd, wife
of John C. Ladd a tract of land in Wallonia, Trigg, Ky on the waters of the Muddy
Fork for $300.

12 Feb 1860 - John C. Ladd, trustee for Susanna Ladd sold to W. R. Simms a house
and lot in the town of Wallonia, now occupied by Simms as a Grocery house on
Princeton Road. pg 201.
22 Aug 1860 - E. B. Ladd, a note to Dabney Stewart for $101.20. Mortgaged a bay
mare.
27 Aug 1861 - R. A Burnett, Commissioner and Evander Ladd. "This indenture made
in obedience to and in persuance of the judgement rendered by the Trigg Circuit
Court at the August Term 1859 in the Suit of William Stewart and others against
Evander Ladd and others after having advertised the time, terms and place of sale
as required by said judgement did on Monday, the 14th day of November 1859, being
County Court day and the first day thereof, at the Court House door in Cadiz,
KY....to sale to the highest bidder as a credit of six months, the tract of land
in the petition and judgement mentioned and Evander Ladd being the highest bidder
the purchaser of said land at the price of $301 for which amount he executed his
bond to said commissioner. Which bond has been fully paid and discharged by the
said Ladd." ........tract of land in Trigg on the waters of Horse Creek. pg 657

Little River from James Richardson & wife for $485. - pg 79
26 Mar 1864 - Mrs. Julia A. Ladd sold a tract of land on the waters of Saline
Creek for $230 to Robert Tinsley. pg 101
28 Jan 1864 - William B. Ladd bought a tract of land from William T. Newman and A.
E. Newman, his wife, of the State of GA, for $412.50.....the land that belonged to
Mrs. Newman from her father James J. Morris, deceased. pg 162

To all peoples whom these presents shall come I John Ladd send greeting Know ye
that I the John Ladd of the County and parrish of Fluvanna for and in
consideration of the love good will and affection which I have and do Bear
towards John Hunt and Ann his wife of the aforesaid County and parrish of
Fluvanna do lend unto the said John and Ann his wife during their life one
certain tract or parcel of Land in the aforesaid County and parrish of Fluvanna
containing by estimation one hundred Acres be it more or less and Bounded as
followeth, to wit, Begining on McKinzeys corner on a white Oak running thence
on McKinzeys line crossing Rockfish Creek to a corner pine, thence new lines
crossing the Creek to Champion Napiers line, thence on Mapiers line to the
begining, lending the above s'd. land unto John Hunt and Ann his Wife during
life and after their decease I freely by these presents give the above s'd.
land unto their Son David Hunt And to his Heirs Ex's. Adm's. and assigns
forever. To have and to hold the said one hundred Acres of Land by estimation
to him my said Grandson David Hunt and his Heirs for ever, together with all
Improvements Convienances and appertinances whatever in as full, and ample
manner as land is E______ held or granted in this Colony, and I do likewise
oblige myself to execute this my Deed of gift by Acknowledging of it to my
grandson David Hunt in Fluvanna County Court. In witness whereof I have here

followeth, to wit, begining at pointers running thence on William Buggs line to
Corner red Oak, thence new lines crossing Rock fish Creek to Champion Napiers
line on a white Oak, thence on Napiers line to Jn'o. Hunts corner, thence new
lines to the begining, lending y'e said Land unto the above Geo: and Elizabeth
Corn During their lives, and after their decease I Freely by these presents
give the above said land unto their son John Ripley Corn and to his Heirs,
Exe's. Adm's. and Assigns forever. To have and to hold the said one hundred
Acres of Land by estimation to him my said grandson Jn'o. Ripley Corn, and his
heirs forever. To gether with all improvments Convienances and apertinances
whatever, in as full and ample manner as Land is usually held or granted in
