This is the tombstone of our 2nd generation Rowley ancestor, Capt. Joseph Boynton, son of immigrants John Boynton and Elin Pell.

The text on the stone is almost illegible, but I think it says, "Here lyes ye body of Capt Joseph Boynton who died December 21, 1730 aged about..." (the rest is illegible)

According to the Boynton Genealogy he was born ca. 1644.
