Heirs of Solomon West and Isabella Boyd

27 May 1823

Know all men by these presents that we William Sutton and Susan, his wife, formally Susan West; Thomas Castillo and Ruth, his wife, formally Ruth West; Mary Dunnigan, widow of Isaac Dunnigan, formally Mary West; Alexander, Mr. Isaac West and Solomon West. The aforesaid Susan Wife of the aforesaid Castillo and the aforesaid Mary Widow of the aforesaid Dunnigan and the aforesaid Alexander, Isaac, and Solomon, who are the daughters and legal heirs of Isabella Boyd and Solomon West after their intermarriage; the said Isabella was the daughter and one of the heirs of James Boyd deceased of Granville County North Carolina who was the uncle of James Boyd Deceased of Salsbury Township Lancaster County State of Pennsylvania and legatee by will of part of his said nephews estate the last mentioned James "for divers good Causes and Consideration" viz hereunto moveing have made ordained Constituted and appointed and by these presents do make Ordain Constitute and appoint Alston Boyd of Greenville District South Carolina our true and lawful attorney in fact for us and in our names and for our own use and benefit to ask demand sue for recover and receive all demands money rights claims and Interests due us as of which we are in any wise entitled or interested in as the daughters and sons and legal heirs of the aforesaid Isabella West, who was the daughter of the said James Boyd deceased, uncle of the last aforementioned James Boyd deceased by his last Will and Testament a legatee, & upon the payment of any legacy or interest which we are in any wise entitled to in or of the estate aforesaid as his heirs and Representatives aforesaid of James Boyd Deceased or to any part thereof and for us and in our names to give receipts acquitances and discharges for the same and the money or property so by him received to pay over to us or our Representatives or to our order and we do further agree that our said attorney may for us and in our names for our use benefit and interest make with any person or persons Contesting the Will of the aforesaid James Boyd Deceased of Pennsylvania as in any way disputing our interest in the aforesaid Estate a compromise of the same upon such terms as our said attorney may think most Conducive to our interest in of or Concerning the aforesaid Estate and for us and in Our name or names to execute any writing and to have use and take all lawfull ways and means in our names or otherwise for the recovery thereof by attachment arrest distress suit or otherwise and to Compound or agree for the same and acquitance and other sufficient discharges for us and in names to make seal and deliver and do all other lawful acts... And Confirming whatsoever our P. of attorney shall in our name or names lawfully Do or Cause to be done in and about the premises by virtue of these presents. In Testimony whereof we have hereunto affixed our hands and Seals this 27th day of May 1823.
