Ann Haines's alphabetic crocheting
This beautiful object was stitched by Anna Haines in 1829.  This might have been Ann W. Haines, daughter of Noah Haines and Anna Silver, which would explain the meaning of the initials "NH" and "AH" to the left of the lower-case alphabet.  She was my 2nd great-grandaunt and died in 1845.  If one didn't already know, one can tell she was a Quaker by her use of "7th mo 1829", at which time she was 10 years old! So maybe it wasn't Anna, but her mother, also an Anna, who was 44 at the time. Anna Silver Haines was my 3rd great-grandmother.
