Wes founded IMFA in August 1986 with the publication of Volume 1, Issue 1 of a newsletter simply titled International Molyneux Family Association.  It began as 6 pages of single-spaced optimism about the possibilities of connections Mx family historians could make if they would share their family research and traditions.

Wes had hit the proverbial brick wall with both his gt grandfather Nathaniel Mullenix (ca. 1817-1896) and wife Sarah Ann Pettigrew.  So as he kept researching, both by motor home across the United States and trips to the UK, as well as yearly research trips to the LDS Library in Salt Lake City, he was encouraged by the many friends he made to consolidate and share the clues he found to other Mx families that did not fit his own.

In 1988 IMFA had a reunion in England that brings only the fondest of memories.  More about this wonderful affair - hopefully in the not too distant future.

After Wes' death in 1995, our President, Betty Molyneux Brown became our Editor.  The newsletter was renamed MxWorld, and has been 28 pages strong for a decade or more.  And at that time,  Wes' daughter assumed the title of President - because no other member accepted nomination!

As we began our 20th year with the August 2006 issue of MxWorld, we are several hundred strong worldwide, and because of the Internet and the hosting of this website by Rootsweb for over 10 years, IMFA continues to attract new Mx researchers.

As an all-volunteer family history association, IMFA relies on members new and old, to share their lineages, their stories, their photos of the people and places that make up their family history.

We hope you will join us.
