There is no proof (yet) that Kermit’s wife Elizabeth was the daughter of Nicholas Bauman, but the argument is as follows:

* The 1940 census shows that Elizabeth’s brother, Cornelius Bauman, age 20, was living with them.

* It also says that Kermit was living in the same house in 1935, while Elizabeth was in the same township. This implies that they were married between 1935 and 1940, and that Elizabeth was living in Green Twp. before they were married.

* The 1930 Census says that the only Bauman family living in Green with a daughter named Elizabeth and a son of Cornelius’ age was Nicholas’. The son was named Bastian C. Bauman, and he does not appear with Nicholas’ family in the 1940 Census.
