According to John Austin, the family Bible in the possession of Sarah Combs says that James Bennett married “Sallie Langworthy”.

There is no proof that Sally was the daughter of Robert and Susannah (Appley) Langworthy, but while William Franklin Langworthy noted that Robert had two daughters (p 144), his account of them appears to be wrong - the Susan who married David Pettit of Troy was the daughter of Robert’s son Ira.

The assumption that Sally was one of Robert’s daughters comes from the fact that Robert’s two sons, Benjamin and Robert, married James Bennett’s sisters and all three families lived for a while in Warren Co., New York.
