Notes for John W. C. Langworthy (ca 1812)
Although there is no proof that John W.C. was the son of Sanford Langworthy and Eunice Avery, who moved with their family to LeRoy, Genesee Co., NY before 1820, there is circumstantial evidence for the connection:
* The Burdick Genealogy says that Sanford had three sons. Oliver and Lee Lord were two of them.
* Sanford’s was the only Langworthy household in Genesee Co. in the 1820 Census.
* The 1820 and 1830 censuses show that Sanford’s household contained a male of the right age.
* JWC married his first wife in LeRoy, and she was buried there.
* In 1860 JWC and Lee Lord Langworthy were living in the same town in Wisconsin.
