Most records refer to this man simply as ‘William B. Langworthy’, so the assumption that he was the ‘Bennett Langworthy’ in the 1880 Census needs some explanation:

* There were other William Langworthys in the area at that time, eg William P. Langworthy (1851), so it’s not unreasonable that middle names would be used to distinguish them.

* WFL said that his wife was Flora Olney. The 1880 Census show that Bennett’s wife was named Flora, and there was a 72 year old widower named Pardon Olney living in their household.

* Flora’s death record says that her husband was “William Burnett Langworthy”
