Notes for John Selim Langworthy (1832)
Fought in the Civil War, as a member of Company B, 36th Wisconsin Volunteers.
Lived in Waushara Co., Wisconsin until August, 1865, when the family moved to Minnesota.
He died at the Swedish Hospital in Minneapolis, of complications from surgery.
From his obituary:
Mr. Langworthy was a farmer the greater portion of his life, and by honest toil, earnest endeavor and square dealing was able to assemble enough of the world’s goods to make himself comfortably independent in his old age, but while in the act of seeking financial wealth did not forget the nobler things in life and was ever ready to speak a kind word and do a kind deed and we are proud to be numbered among his numerous friends.”
