According to WFL, he lived to be 93, and possessed great physical strength, working as a lumberman, road builder, hunter and trapper. According to the 1860 Census, he was a day laborer at age 91!

Robert’s date of death is calculated from the census data, which says he was 82 in 1850 and 91 in 1860, and from WFL’s statement that he died at age 93. The statement in WFL that Robert died before 1832 is clearly a misprint.
