He served in the War of 1812. Records in the Adjutant General's Office , War Department, Washington, D.C., show that he was a matrass in Captain Howe's Company, 4th Regiment, New York State Artillery, acting as Infantry 36th New York Militia, from Oct. 29 to Nov. 7, 1813. Also served as private in Captain Vaughan's Company of Artillery, same regiment, from Sept 1 to 13, 1814. He was a farmer and lived on Harrington Hill near Warrensburg, NY.
