Notes for Phineas Langworthy (ca 1764)
Phineas settled first in Easton, NY, near the Quaker Meeting House. After making many improvements on the farm he found his title to be defective and so moved in 1806 to North Greenwich, Reid's Corners, where he built up a splendid homestead which still remains in the possession of his descendants. He was a prominent citizen and active in the Methodist church. He is called the father of the Methodist Episcopal Church at Greenwich.6

He died intestate, and letters of administration were granted to Jason Langworthy of Greenwich and George Fisher of White Creek.
