Notes for Burton Langworthy (1877)
Burton was the son of Clara Lucretia Langworthy and an unknown father. After about a year it was decided that it was in Burton’s best interest that Clara give up custody of him and that her parents, Albert and and Caroline Langworthy legally adopt him. This was done on Feb 26, 1878 before A. Dallas Wait, Washington Co. judge.

He initially followed in his father Albert’s footsteps and attended the New York College of Pharmacy, graduating in 1897. He became bored with the work, and left to work on the railroad, becoming an engineer on the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad.
