Nostalgia - Prairie Street - City Square looking southeast

Remembering the Good Times
Nostalgia

"Dream a-little".
A 'German in Swede-town' - the Reinkings! One brother had a tavern on this corner of city square.
The other had his shop next door. Meat man he was. Knew how to 'smoke' those cuts.
Both left including the 'smoke shop'. Enterprisers wanted corner for bank.
Moved tavern east a lot - became know as Jack's Cafe. Still had the door in the corner.
Home Bank on the corner lot - swept away in the depression. New home for American Legion.
Harness, shoes, - John Thunstrom's the leather man. Later, home to Wassgren the barber.
Mauritz brothers had a hotel - burned in first serious fire. Gave rise to Kiron Fire Dept.
Peter Miller restaurant - ice cream too. Mollers came later.
The grain elevator and lumber yard. Hoaglund, Brummer, Ted Johnson - others too.
And all the mechanics on the street too. Chevys were king. Studebakers for awhile.
Lots to dream about. Pleasant memories.
