William Addison was a resident of Orangeburg District, SC, in 1790 and is believed to have migrated to the Amite/Pike area in Mississippi the same time as the Carter Family and numerous other families. He died in Amite County. On February 13, 1811, the only known document regarding his estate was an estate sale, which listed the following persons: Administrators: Catharine Addison, Moses Donaho and Thomas Pharis Estate appraised 7-18-1811 by Peter Felder, Sr., Ephraim Prescott and Isaac Carter Elizabeth Carter, wife of Allen Carter, paid $20 William Addison, JR., paid $8.00 Sale Bill of Estate February , 1812, lists: Catharine Addison, John Donahoe, Moses Donahoe, Allen Carter, William Addison, Esther Addison, William Squires, Lucy Addison, Nancy Addison, Caty Addison Also believed to be a son of William Addison, but no documentation is available, is John Britton Addison, listed below: John Britton Addison was b. May 8, 1781 in SC and died December 10, 1829 in St. Halena Parish, LA. He was married to Mary Carter in 1808 in SC. They moved to Mississippi in 1810 along with both families.
