First Generation

1.   John DAVIDSON was born 1752 in Auburn County, South Carolina. He died 1797 in Charleston 
County, South Carolina. 
John married Margaret WILSON, daughter of Samuel WILSON Sr. and Mrs. (Howard) POTTS. 
Margaret was born 1761.
They had the following children:
   +   2   F   i.   Mary DAVIDSON was born 1787 and died 1831.
   +   3   M   ii.   John Howard DAVIDSON was born 20 Oct 1792 and died 7 May 1862.
   +   4   M   iii.   Samuel Wilson DAVIDSON was born 17 Sep 1789 and died 4 Mar 1863/1864.

Second Generation

2.   Mary DAVIDSON (John) was born 1787. She died 1831.
Mary married Thomas CRAWFORD on 27 Apr 1816 in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. 
Thomas was born 1784. He died 1844.
They had the following children:
   +   5   M   i.   James Wilson CRAWFORD was born 1822 and died 1883.

3.   John Howard DAVIDSON (John) was born 20 Oct 1792 in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. 
He died 7 May 1862 in Perry County, Alabama and was buried in Uniontown Cemetery, Perry County, 
Alabama.
John married Martha CALDWELL, daughter of Alexander CALDWELL Rev and Sarah DAVIDSON, 
on ABT 1823 in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. Martha was born 28 Jul 1795 in North Carolina.
They had the following children:
   +   6   F   i.   Margaret DAVIDSON was born 25 May 1824 and died 3 Nov 1910.
      7   M   ii.   Alexander C. DAVIDSON was born 1827 in North Carolina.

4.   Samuel Wilson DAVIDSON (John) was born 17 Sep 1789 in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. 
He died 4 Mar 1863/1864 in Bibb County, Alabama.
Samuel married Francis STRINGFELLOW, daughter of Mr. STRINGFELLOW and Jane. Francis was 
born 10 Jul 1801. She died 30 Oct 1848 in Bibb County, Alabama and was buried in Centerville Cemetery, 
Bibb County, Alabama.
They had the following children:
      8   M   i.   William DAVIDSON was born 9 Dec 1828 in Alabama. He died 5 Nov 1850 in Bibb County, 
Alabama and was buried in Centerville Cemetery, Bibb County, Alabama.
      9   F   ii.   Margaret DAVIDSON was born 17 Aug 1830. She died 22 Aug 1853 in Bibb County, Alabama 
and was buried in Centerville Cemetery, Bibb County, Alabama.
Margaret married D. William PITTS on 14 Jan 1852 in Bibb County, Alabama.
      10   M   iii.   John Thornton DAVIDSON was born 30 Aug 1832. He died 10 Oct 1843 in Bibb County, 
Alabama and was buried in Centerville Cemetery, Bibb County, Alabama.
      11   M   iv.   Samuel Wilson DAVIDSON Jr. was born 1835 in Alabama.
      12   M   v.   James L. DAVIDSON was born 1837 in Alabama.
James married (1) Fannie BARCLAY on 27 Jan 1864 in Bibb County, Alabama.
James also married (2) Susan A. ROWELL on 17 Nov 1867 in Bibb County, Alabama.
      13   M   vi.   Thomas DAVIDSON was born 1839 in Alabama.
      14   F   vii.   Mary F. "Fannie" DAVIDSON was born 1842 in Alabama.
Mary married Edward H. MOREN on 4 Jul 1860 in Bibb County, Alabama.
      15   F   viii.   Caroline "Jennie" DAVIDSON was born 1846 in Alabama.

Third Generation

5.   James Wilson CRAWFORD (Mary DAVIDSON, John) was born 1822. He died 1883.
James married (1) #1 UNKNOWN.
James also married (2) Sarah HUEY on 1863. Sarah was born 1842. She died 1908.
They had the following children:
      16   F   i.   Marilla CRAWFORD was born in Centerville, Alabama.
Marilla married William GRAY.
      17   F   ii.   Estelle CRAWFORD was born in Centreville, Alabama.

6.   Margaret DAVIDSON (John Howard, John) was born 25 May 1824. She died 3 Nov 1910 in Perry 
County, Alabama and was buried in Uniontown Cemetery, Perry County, Alabama.
Margaret married Philip Henry PITTS, son of Thomas D. PITTS and Mary M. GRAY, on 15 Jan 1840 
in Perry County, Alabama. Philip was born 16 Jun 1816 in Midway, Virginia. He died 22 Apr 1884 in 
Uniontown, Perry County, Alabama and was buried in Uniontown Cemetery, Perry County, Alabama.
They had the following children:
      18   M   i.   Philip Henry PITTS.
Philip married Amanda Hill MCLEAN.

3.  John Howard DAVIDSON
"Heritage of Perry County"
p 63 - "John Howard Davidson, who was born in Mecklenburg Co. NC, on October 20, 1792, 
and his wife, Martha Caldwell, who was born on July 28, 1795, moved to the [Uniontown] 
area in 1828 and built one of the finest houses in the county, six miles east of Uniontown.

p 86 fn 93 "Colonel Davidson was born in Mecklenburg County NC on October 20, 1792, 
emigrated to this area [Uniontown] of Alabama in 1835, and died on May 7, 1862. 
He is buried in the Uniontown Cemetery."

pp 86-7 - "The Presbyterian Church of Uniontown was organized on December 10, 1848, in the 
home of Col. John Howard Davidson... Col. Davidson and Maj. William Lee Davidson were 
appointed as the presiding elders.... chose to name the church Hopewell Presbyterian Church."
