Benjamin Temple (1734-1800) was made captain, 1776, of the Virginia dragoons and lieutenant-colonel of the Continental dragoons, 1777, serving until the close of the war. He was born in Virginia; died in King William County, Va. Ephraim McLean (1730-1823) was a member of the Committee of Safety of Rowan County, North Carolina, 1775, and also served as a soldier, participating in the battle of King's Mountain. He was born in Scotland; died in Kentucky.
