    Mrs. George Gable, Beloved Resident
    of Haralson, Dies at the Age of 85


    Mrs. George W. Gable, 85, passed away at her home near Haralson Thursday evening, March 17th, after an illness of only a few days. She was complaining on Tuesday and on Wedsnesday and a physician was called, but she grew steadily worse until death ended her suffering.

    Her death was a shock to her friends as she was able to attend church only a few days before she was stricken.

    Mrs. Gable was born in Coweta county on April 24th, 1853, and had lived practically all her life in the Haralson community. She was formerly Miss Mary Elizabeth Addy, daughter of Wesley and Isabelle Bernard Addy.

    Early in life she joined the Mt. Pilgrim Lutheran church, Haralson, and remained one of its most active and faithful members.

    Funeral services were held on March 19th at Mt. Pilgrim Lutheran church, conducted by the Rev. Muller Wingard, of Greenwood, S. C., and burial was in the Lutheran cemetery.

    Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Royal Todd, of Wooster; Mrs. O. L. Thompson, Misses Sallie and Lillie Gable, of Haralson; and Miss Nonie Gable, of Roanoke, Va., and four sons, Albert, Oscar, Henry, and Willie Gable all of Haralson; two sisters, Mrs. W. P. Addy, of Preston, Ga., and Mrs. Couch Carlton, of Senoia; three brothers, W. J. Addy, of Lake Village, Ark.; Jason Addy, of Atlanta, and Simeon Addy, of Haralson, and by thirteen grandchildren.
