Introduction by Mr. Holcomb [excerpt]:

"Godfrey Drehr was born 4 December 1789, the son of John and Ann Drehr. . . . He should not be confused with his uncle of the same name. Rev. Godfrey Drehr was licensed in 1810 and ordained in 1812, and served many churches. . . . This journal can be viewed on microfilm in the South Caroliniana Library, from which film this copy was transcribed. It begins in 1819 and ends in 1851. If journals before or after this period exist, they are not known to the writer."
