Monday, Nov 9

Warming up. Thawing! All the snow left. Sent in one lesson this morning. Really industrious for a change. Stayed home at night. Took home work but didn't get any thing done. Listened to Pat O'Brien on Lux Theater “Parole.” It was really good. Went to bed early. “In The Middle of a Kiss” What you think about!!!!!!

 

Tuesday, Nov 10

Rather cold. Edith came over about nine. Asked me to go to the Des Moines with her. Got Madge to stay at store for me. Went with Edith & Walter in truck. Got new purse, shoes & stockings. Ate at Kresge's. Edith got dress, shoes, socks, hat. Met Walt at Katz at 3:00. Truch parked at bridge. More fun going home. Ate at Dick & Mac's. Left my gloves there. Went back after them. Home about 7:30. Went to Bank Nite “Down the Stretch.” Alex Fieldmyer got the $80. Home with Leo! Madge broke key to store door.

Wednesday, Nov 11

Still a little chilly but was real warm by afternoon. Just worked in morning. Walked to town in pm. Ate in at Hutcheson's with Gerry. Washed & fixed print dress. Swell out. Pete came at 8:00. Folks to show, too. We couldn't decide what to do, finally went to “Trouble for Two.” Really good. Max, Orrin, Pete & I sat on 8 th row! Could we see! Ollie Betts? - - Something wrong tonite for some reason or other!

Thursday, Nov 12

Really swell out! Got my name on honor roll! Studied & read “Honor Bound.” Really Good! Rather cold out. Did up work at nite, then listened to radio – Leo & Bussy were on cot so I slept on floor till Dad got razor strap after me!!! Mom did a big washing. Teddy tore stuff off the line – were we mad!!

Friday, Nov 13

Really a swell day. Ran around all morning getting window decorations. Fixed the window in pm. Norma here all afternoon – Pete came down for a minute! Said we were going to Carroll to the dance tonight! Had my hair set at Jennie's – got home late for supper. Kids came at 8:30 – Pete, Max, Orrin, & I in Pete's car. Had good time – Leo – Terry – Left at intermission – Pete & I – Sat in car by court house – Patrolmen & their flash lights! Heavenly time! Took shoes off on way home – Pete carried me to the house! More fun! Do we hate Wednesdays!

Saturday, Nov 14

Real swell day! Read all morning. Really sleepy in pm. Norma was here quite a while! Charlie gone to I. S. T. C. Homecoming! “The Old Man” was here in morning! Norma here in pm doing Shthand. I was so darned sleepy. Home for supper. Brought V-8 in & worked at store at nite! 10:30

Sunday, Nov 15

Real nice out! Cleaned upstairs and down! – Did part of ironing. To aunt Ger's for dinner! Folks & Ger's went to Jefferson to “Big Broadcast” – Leo & I came home & did chores & then I went after folks. Lots of fun with Margaret. [Cameron –added later] Pete came at 7:45. Went to “ China Clipper.” Swell time! Don, Orrin, Pete, Max, Norma & I at Hutcheson's. Dentyne trip to town. Garage!
