Monday, Oct 19 Really was sleepy. Got a library book from Jean & read “The Third Son.” All afternoon. Walked home from work. Really was nice out. Caught chickens. Edith there a minute. Went to bed early.
Tuesday, Oct 20 Nice out in morning but it kept getting colder. About froze in pm. At nite Edith & I went to S. B. at Helen's. Pete & Harold came after us. Ate lunch. Went to dance. Jack Everette's . Not much of a crowd. Ate at Textor's. Home at 2:00. Squeak, Elmer, Don, Harold Pete etc. [added later: Arch Textor & Celia ran southside Café]
Wednesday, Oct 21 Really cold out. Read “Woman in Love.” Dorothy T, Betty & Edith here. I typed for Edith. Wore o'alls to free show. Slept during all of it. With Edith and Erna. About frozen!
Thursday, Oct 22 Real cold out. Had a good coal fire in stove. [added later: at store] Read & studied most of day. Betty in after school. I typed one for her. Walked home a Noon. Mrs Lund rode out with us at nite. Did dishes, listened to radio, went to sleep & 7:30 (sp?).
Friday, Oct 23 Really cold out in am. Scared of fire in stove. Warmer in pm. Fixed fingernails, studied, & read. “With Banners” – Emily Loring. Edith & I shopped for cinnamon rolls, dishes, soup spoons. She went home with ?? Wore o'alls to game. Edith came with us. Sat in Rogers car. We 13. Lehigh-6. Ate at Textor's Café afterwards. Saturday, Oct 24 Not quite so cold out. Read & finished book in morning. Sent in another shorthand lesson. Nice & warm in pm. but real windy. Cleaned up & down stairs. Busy all day long. Cleaned up & went to town at nite. Leo & I. Car parked across from Lund 's. Home about 10.15.
Sunday, Oct 25 Busy getting ready for Ger. & Evrt. Ironed. Edith called & wanted me to go to Manning with them to Vogre's so I went. Had swellest home. Grandest meals & needlework. Jesse is so nice. I love her! Home about 7:00. Got ready for show. Pete came at 7:30. Went to “ San Francisco .” Surely good! Harold & Pete & I ate lunch at Textor's.
