Monday, Sept 14

Real terribly windy & quite warm. Put on trunks in pm. Walked to Lund corner three times & up to Mountains & back to meet Bussy at night. Hard split wood. At nite took little bath & made out order for white he' – tops. Scrubbed.

 

Tuesday, Sept 15

Up at 7:00 & it was raining & had rained all nite. Had to use lamp to eat breakfast. Did usual work & baked choc. cake. Rained all day long. At night I took car over to Morg Evan's & Bussy & Howard & I had to walk from there down to the river & make the cows swim. Had quite a time! A real experience. River was bank full & then some.

 

Wednesday, Sept 16

Real damp out and really was cold. Did up work & then after dinner Howard & I walked down in pastures to look at river. First time I ever saw all of our land. Had a lot of fun. Leo a little better but doesn't like these dreary days. Ida Marie & Aunt Lucille & Uncle Wilson came at nite. Listened to Lucky Strike. Real cold at nite.

 

Thursday, Sept 17

A little warmer but still plenty cool. Did usual work & then walked to town to meet Bussy. Got as far as Parkers corner. Watched Mts. Pitch horse shoes. At nite listened to Bob Burns. Really sleepy. Made corn bread & fried apples & rice.

 

Friday, Sept 18

Still warmer out. Leo still better. Sat up awhile. Made sour cream biscuits. Rasmuses Louise Marie & Annie here & ate what was left. Howard led “Blue Roan” in to the sale. Played tennis with Bussy before supper, then did dishes, to ball game Guthrie beat us. Imagine that. With Lunds, Helen, & Lenore L.. Took V-8. D.P afterwards – popcorn. Cleaned upstairs.

Saturday, Sept 19

Did up usual work. Scrubbed floors. Jesse T. came to see Leo & I rode into town with her. Mailed letters & got mail. Wore new white boots home. Ida M. here at nite. Mom & Dad went riding. To bed early. Did my lingerie washing.

 

Sunday, Sept 20

Usual work. Ironed red blouse. Had creamed chicken & biscuits. Baked wht cake. Lund 's, Pete, Don A., Peverstorf's Par [ink blot blocked part of word] Jensen & I in truck riding in pm. Watermelons at Leibs – 10 of ‘em. Lot of fun. To show at nite “These Three.” Drove Kenneth's car. “tummy ake”
