Bank Nite at the Movies:
I asked Leo about that, he said: "It would start at $20.00 and go up $10.00 each week until paid out! You had to be there to win. Great fun!"
An early promotion incentive to assure regular, every week attendance - Tuesday nights, a down day normally. Sould familiar??

Note there was a $140 winner this week!

Monday, May 11

At nite went over to watch horse shoe. Prissy called & wanted me to come & stay with her so I did. Ate smacks and milk in bed. She had a new permanent.

Tuesday, May 12

I got my permanent right after school from Luetta. Just an end curl. Prissy came down and we went to bank nite. “Seven Keys to Baldpate.” Em Smith got $140.

Wednesday, May 13

Helen J. came down after school & we played tennis. Rick came & Sarah & Leo stood Rick and me. We won. Played ‘till 7:00. Was supposed to go to B.B. party but Marian came down so we went to the show “In Person.” Ginger R. & Geo. Brent. Really good. Went riding afterwards.

Thursday, May 14

Sewed on my Culatte in school. Helen J. came down & we played tennis awhile. Went to choir practice. Fixed Home Ec scrap book & note book. Folks to Rasmus's. Mom brought home a “Fern.”

Friday, May 15

Terribly busy in school all day. Getting ready for exhibits. Millslagle in her height of glory. Went to Tilton & Guthrie Matinee [a tent show]. Helen J. came down at nite & we sewed on our H. Ec. Projects.

 

Saturday, May 16

To Des Moines with Thomas' at 7:00. Ate at Yonker's Tea Room. Smitzy! Bo't 2 dresses & white sandels. Home at 6:00. Surely the hottest & windiest day. Finished my Culatte at nite. Washed my hair. Listened to Hit Parade. Bussy at show. Tired so to bed early.

Sunday, May 17

Took freezer of ice cream to Gertrude's for dinner. Newhan's, Leonard & Pauline there. Wore new Culotte. Grand time. Came home & Buzz & I went to “Singing Kid.” Folks at church to Liquor Play.
