Monday, April 20

Monday. Real warm. Sultry. B.B. practice and then to Baseball game with Glidden. We beat them easily. Lyle knocked a homer. Helen J. and I drove our Chevy out to the farm for milk. Rained at nite. Listened to Laurence Tibbett as Stephen Foster. Pretty good but lots of static. Typed certificates for Dad. At nite typed letters up stairs.

Tuesday, April 21

Cold out all day. Got my pictures after school. One of them was just fine. Fixed my hair a little. Took Valeria to Standard Bearers party at church. Missionary entertained. Sat by Mrs. Carlson & Mrs. Prettyman. Had real cute favors. Afterwards listened to Eddie Duchin and Elgin Review.

Wednesday, April 22

Still colder than normal out. Mrs. Chrystal's funeral. Sewed on my dress in Home Ec and then taught Miss Mathew's Home Ec Freshman classes. Lots of fun. At night listened to Gracie and Fred Allen. Wrote letters and looked at catalogue. Took down the Hit Parade. “Lost” got first.


Thursday, April 23

Tried out for play at noon. Had music pictures and Senior basketball girls pictures. Got new Farmerettes. Wore them. Up to Thomas' for supper. Ankar W. there, too. Played and sang afterwards. Mr. Clemen's brought ice cream for all of us. Ankar Brought me home.


Friday, April 24

Served in Home Ec and took oral Physics test. I missed Charles' Law (Pressure constant – volume of dry gas is directly prop. to absolute temp) After school Leo and Bussy & I went to Jr & Sr – Fr & Soph. Baseball game. Underclass beat 8-6. Picked class play cast. Dorothy, Beth, Liz, Valeria, Edith R., Merle C., Don Hart, Andy, Fat. Went skating with Rosalee. Bud, Leo, Bussy & I went walking & then got car and drove down to Amateur contest. Leave tomorrow at 8:00.


Saturday, April 25

Left for Carroll at 8:00. Got 3 rd . Caroll 1 st . Lanesoro 2 nd . Beat me .40 of a word. Paid for glee club socks, mailed letters, bought shoes, went to keenest show “Voice of Bugle Ann” Lionel Barrymore, Eric Linden & Maureen O'Sullivan. Got milk. Dad & I did dishes. Mom sick. Bussy, Leo & Ida to show. I went up after Buss but he had to stay for “Tailspin Tommy.” Dad brought ice cream boxes.

Sunday, April 26

Slept late. Mom better. Made noodles, washed hair in forenoon. Folks went to funeral at German church. I had an awful batch of dishes. Went to Scranton with Marian but Arm's weren't there. Left a note. Folks at Gertrude's for supper. To League and then home fixing memory book & writing. Folks to church. Buzz with me.
