Mystery Photo Identified

The photo below was donated to the Donnellson Library Genealogy Department by Jack and Eileen Clemons in the summer of 2008.  The photo was found in their collection of many family photos; subjects of the photo are not family members.  The only clue is that this photo was taken by Bell Photographers which was located on Main Street in Donnellson.   The photo appeared in the Daily Democrat and on the Donnellson Library Website in July 2008 as the first Genealogy Department mystery photo.   It wasn’t until December of 2008 that the two children were identified as Leona and Alberta Haffner by none other than Jack Clemons.

No further information was found on Leona except that she was born circa 1900 and that she lived at the Haffner home at 414 Oak St.  The home is currently the home of Erma DeRosear.
