Some early Duncans in Blanco Co. TX:
Peter J. Duncan, 28 Sept. 1853, received bounty warrant #1379 for 320 acres for service from Dec.5 to Dec. 10, 1835, at Siege of Bexar; 177 acres in Blanco Co. were patented to Jacob de Cordova, assignee on 7 July 1855, and 105 acres in Hays Co. were patented to Peter J. Duncan on 12 July 1888. ("Bounty and Donation Land Grants of Texas 1835-1888" by Thomas Lloyd Miller, 1967, for service between 1835 and 1846, from records of the TX General Land Office; from Lucille Mehrkam 1984). Peter J. Duncan's Bounty Warrant in Blanco Co. was listed on pg.128, "Abstract of Titled and Patented Lands Compiled From the Records of the General Land Office of the State of Texas" published in Austin in 1860 (index by Paul Campbell, published in Vol.3#2 "Texas Heritage Quarterly," from Lucille Mehrkam 2/1984 and CA State Library, Sutro Branch, book F385 T48) (MAD: 1850 Harris Co.
