Tennessee General Land Grants, Vol.L, 1815-1816 (FHL film 1,012,950; SLC 8/31/2010; filled in form)
      L-88: 14 Sept. 1815, Grant No. 7740, by virtue of Certificate No.382 dated 24 November 1810 issued by the Register of West TN to Robert Searcy and entered on 22 June 1811 by No.248 an occupant claim, there is granted to Lewis Duncan, assignee of said Robert Searcy, tract of land containing 200 acres by survey 22 May 1808 in Warren Co. in the Second District on the South side of Barren fork of Caney fork and bounded ... beg. at a post oak on the west side of a branch and about 50 yards from the SW corner of his field, then E 31 chains and 63 links to a post oak among post oaks, then N 63 chains and 26 links to a mulberry just in the bank of the barren fork, then W along the bank 31 chains and 63 links to a post oak, then to the beginning, including his improvement. Recorded October 9, 1815.

Middle Tennessee Land Grants (FHL film 1,012,992; SLC 8/31/2010; filed in form)
      8-406: 7 Sept. 1827, Grant No. 6756, for twelve & one half cents per acre paid into the office of the Entry-Taker of Warren County, and entered on 8 November 1824 per Act of General Assembly 22 Nov. 1823, by No.786, there is granted by the State of Tennessee to Elisha Dunkin a tract of land of 50 acres by survey 13 March 1825 in the said county, on the barren fork of Collins River on the dry branch about half a mile south of the Nashville Road and bounded ... beg. at a black oak and two small hickories marked with a knife a cross mark and three notches, running then W 64 poles to a black jack and post oak then S 126 poles to a post oak and hickory, then E 64 poles to a black and white oak, then N 126 poles to the beginning. Recorded Nov. 14, 1827.
      8-428: 8 Sept. 1827, Grant No. 6778, for twelve & one half cents per acre paid into the office of the Entry-Taker of Warren County, and entered on 5 July 1824 per Act of General Assembly 22 Nov. 1823, by No.450, there is granted by the State of Tennessee to William Dunkin a tract of land of 50 acres by survey 4 October 1825 in the said county on the waters of the barren fork of Collins River and bounded ... beg. at a white oak near the house where Joseph Murphey now lives near a north course from the said house, the tree marked MD (MAD: not WD) running then W 100 poles to a small hickory, then N 80 poles to a post oak, then E 100 poles to a small hickory then N 80 poles to a post oak then E 100 poles to a small hickory, then S 80 poles to the beginning.       A-111: 9 March 1828, Grant No.162, by virtue of Entry No.222 made in the office of the Entry taker of Warren Co. 29 June 1824, there is granted by State of TN to William T. Dunkin a tract of land of 50 acres by survey 14 April 1825 in said County on the waters of the Barren Fork of Collins River, beg. on N boundary line of a survey in the name of Thomas Hopkins on a black oak running then N 123 poles to a black oak, then E 65 and 3/4 poles to Wm. D. Dinkins SW corner, not reaching the NW corner as called for, then S 123 poles to a small hickory and post oak on Thomas Hopkins line, then W 65 & 3/4 poles to be beginning.       A-262/263: 12 March 1828, Grant No.388, by virtue of Entry No.934 made in the office of the Entry Taker of Warren Co. 4 July 1825, there is granted by State of TN to William D. Duncan a tract of land of 15 and 3/4 acres by survey 6 July 1825, lying in said county on the waters of the Barren fork of Collins River, beg. on a black oak marked WD on J. Franklin's line 20 poles N of the NW corner of 20 acres belonging to said Duncan, running then W with Franklin's line 42 poles to a black oak Isham Franklin's NE corner of 50 acres, then N 60 poles to an ash said Franklin's SE corner on the N boundary of said Duncan's 50 acres, then E with said line 42 poles to a stake the SE corner of said Duncan's 20 acres, then N with said line 60 poles to the beginning.       A-277: 12 March 1828, Grant No.410, by virtue of Entry No.1586 made in the office of the Entry taker of Warren Co. 4 Feb. 1826, there is granted by State of TN to William D. Duncan a tract of land of 75 acres by survey 22 May 1827, in said county on the waters of the Barren Fork of Collins River, beg. on a stake and pointers, being the SW corner of 20 acres belonging to said Duncan on the W boundary of 70 acres in name of W. McMertry, running then S with McMertry's line 87 poles to a small hickory near Thos. Hopkins N boundary, then W with the same 120 poles to a post oak in the E boundry of 40 acres in name of said Duncan, then N with said line 113 poles to the NW corner of said tract on the S boundary of said Duncan's 20 acres, then E with said line 60 poles to the SE corner a post oak and hickory on the W boundary of another 20 acres of said Duncan, then S with said line 26 poles to a post oak and black oak, the SW corner, then E 60 poles to the beginning.       F-133/134: 21 Oct. 1835, Grant No.4068, in consideration of 1 cent per acre paid into the office of the Entry taker of Warren County and entered on 5 Dec. 1828 pursuant to the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of said State passed 3 Dec. 1825 by No.3682, there is granted by State of TN to Elisha Duncan a tract of land containing 150 acres by survey 15 Aug. 1829 lying in said county on the waters of the Barren fork of Collins River, beg. on two black jacks and post oak marked E.D. one of the black jacks being the NW corner of a 30 acre tract now belonging to Isaac Anderson entered in the name of Thomas Hopkins, running W 30 poles to a post oak on the E boundary line of a tract belonging to David Bishop and William West, then S with said line 199 poles to a hickory and post oak, then E 130-1/2 poles to a post oak and black oak, then S 160 poles to two post oak on the N boundary line of a 100 acre tract in the name of William Line, then W with said line 50-1/2 poles to the NW corner of said tract, then S with Line's line 39 poles to a black oak the NE corner of Anderson's 30 acre tract, then W with Anderson's line 60 poles to the beginning.       M-288: 7 June 1839, Grant No.6877, by virtue of Entry No.296? made in the office of the Entry Taker of White County and entered on 5 June 1837 pursuant to provisions of an Act of the General Assembly passed 9 Jan. 1831, there is granted by State of TN to Uriah York, James Wood and John Duncan a tract of land containing 640 acres by survey 10 October 1837, lying in said county on the waters of Cane Creek on Cumberland mountain, beginning on a white oak with the root groing round a rock ate on Pure? rods or next South of a spring that Reuben Hooper formerly used, then E 64 poles to a post oak and hickory, then N 240 poles two chesnuts and a black oak, then W 436-1/2 poles to a post oak and black oak and black jack, then S 340? poles to two red oaks, then E 362-1/2 poles to the beginning, including the improvements made by said Hooper and Franklin Paine and a chalebiat? spring.       OPR-195: [P]21. 18 November 1839, Grant No.7610, by virtue of Entry No.3778 made in the office of the Entry Taker of Warren Co. and entered on 1 May 1834 pursuant to provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of said State passed 9 Jan. 1830, there is granted by State of TN to Lemuel Duncan a tract of land containing 640 acres by survey 9 May 1835 lying in said county on the head waters of the Barren fork of Collins River, beginning on a post oak on the North boundary line of an entry in the name of Joel Cherry running thence N 320 poles to a post oak, then E 180 poles to a stake on Allen Morgan's line, then S with his line 30 poles to a black oak his Corner, then E with his line 171-1/4 poles to a stake in King's line, then S with said line 290 poles to a stake, then W intersecting Cherry's North boundary and with his line in all 351-1/20 poles to the beginning, including and excluding 30 acres of older granted land.       OPR-601/602: R146. 3 Aug. 1840, Grant No.8032, by virtue of Entry No.2402 made in the office of the Entry Taker of Warren Co. and entered on 17 October 1827 pursuant to provisions of an act of the General Assembly passed 3 Dec. 1825, there is granted by State of TN to William Duncan a tract of land containing 50 acres by survey 13 Sept. 1838 lying in said county on the waters of the Barren fork of Collins River beginning on a post oak the SE corner of a 150 acre survey in the name of Asahel Rains, then East with the line of a survey in the name of said Duncan 47 poles to a post oak on Wests line, then North with his line 170 poles to two post oaks on Turners line, then west with the same 47 poles to a stake, then south with Asahel Rains line 170 poles to the beginning. Patterson have executed to us their note for $1000 payable 25 Dec. next, one for $883.33 payable 12 months after date bearing 6% from date, one two years from date for $883.33 bearing same interest, one for $883.33 three years from date bearing interest from date, and $2505 which was paid down the receipt of which is hereby acknowledge.       8-514: 7 Oct. 1877, Whereas Mary Duncan died on 7 June 1877 intestate leaving William Duncan, John Duncan, G.P. Lusk and P.L. Duncan her heirs at law, and whereas she died seized and possessed of two tracts of land in Warren Co. TN in Dist.4, the first tract the homestead where she resided at the time of her death consisting of two tracts, one of 68 acres which was deeded to her by W. Duncan, John Duncan, W.L. Lusk, G.P. Lusk & P.L. Duncan, also one other tract containing 50 acres which lies out at one end containing a portion the Whortle burry ground, reference made to said deed for boundaries which is registered in Book V pg.108 & 109; also two other pieces of land conveyed to her by P.L. Duncan and wife, the 1st piece containing 40 acres more or less and lies west of the homestead and adj. the land J.W. Rust bought of the Pattersons, the other piece or tract lies on the east side of the 50 acre tract out at the pond which is the residue of the piece of land in said deed that is estimated at 110 acres after taking the piece off what was sold to John R. Green and now contains about 40 acres more or less and is more fully described in said deed, book 5 page 168 & 169. I, P.L. Duncan, one of the heirs of Mary Duncan, have transferred to Wm. Duncan for $500 paid, my undivided interest in the aforementioned or described tract of land which is the 1/4 part. /s/ P.L. Duncan. No wit. P.L. Duncan appeared 14 Nov. 1877. Recorded 5 Feb. 1878.
